Looking to get a 16" bias ply DOT tire and all is available is 26x11.5x16 M&H cheater slicks or Hoosier QTP 26x9.5x16. Any one have experience with either? Need it to hook 650whp and wondering if the 9.5 is too small? Can't find anyone who has tried the M&H bias ply.

I just got the 26x9.5x16 QTP for my car. Haven't run them yet, but they are really narrow compared to the 26x11.5's I used to run. They are really soft, But I'm wondering the same thing if I'll be able to hook with them. Here's a comparison of them.... the QTP's are not mounted in the pic.

They do look narrow. Let me know how they work once you get a chance to try them. The M&H are 11.5 but can't find any feed back on them. Thanks

I run a 28x13.5 Hoosier QTP, they are not a true slick so they do not come in the same sizes. If you look on Hoosiers web site, they show you a section width that will give you a better idea of how wide they are. So far I love them. No sway on the street or track, they work GREAT on the street and very good on the track, I pulled a 1.54 60' first time out. The 9.5 is going to be way too small. I would do at least an 11.5 depending on what wheels and BS you have. Here is what my car looks like with the 13.5 wide http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/showthread.php?1105810-New-Drag-Setup-for-the-Cobra&highlight=

I cannot fit a 28" tire with my car being as low as it is. There are very few options of 26's. I originally ordered the MT ET Streets but they were discontinued, thats the only reason I went with a 9.5 QTP.

I will let you know how they are after I get them on and hit the track.

Any updates on how the 9.5" worked out?

In for results and pics if possible. Looking for the right tire for a pony rim. I'd like to do a 28 stiff wall but I'm having a hard time finding someone to roll my fenders.

Checked your link. Car looks killer. What front tire are you running?

I used these spacers from global west to help me clear

I bought the QTP 26x9.5x16 for my car, and finally ran them at the track. I was concerned about being able to hook such a small width tire, but they did awesome. Was pulling 1.70 60's all night leaving at 3500-4000 rpm.

I was very impressed with them. I would highly recommend them. Had a little sway up top, but nothing too bad. I was running 20 psi in them before the burnout. No tubes, they hold air very well too.

I'll post a video soon too.

Roll them yourself. I paid a shop 300 bucks to do them and they barely touched them in fear of cracking the paint. I ended up having to do it. Not hard, just need patience, heat gun, temperature gun, and the roller.

Perfect! That's where I'm headed. Had a set of Street Lites with a QTP only on a 15" wheel, 27x11.5 tire. Hooks very well and had similar 60 ft times. Sold the wheel/tire package, and been thinking of an affordable alternative to get QTP's back on the car for track days. Are those a wheel off a new edge v6? 7'' width?

Yes, off a 99-04 V6. They are 7.5 wide. Which is perfect for the QTP 9.5.

 Thanks man!

I see there is a set of these on CL not too far from me for a hundred bucks. That don't sound bad, I can always try and sell the other two.
