Isos?

Think I may end up doing that much. Roads here suck but I gotta get rid of the 4x4 stance. Have any pics of the cut springs? Did you eyeball it or measure it?

All the stock used isos were re-used.

I had cut coils on an 84 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe that I used to autocross a little bit.

I knew I was going to be doing primarily(98%) street driving.
I was also not going for any particular look.
I figured part of the reason for the stock ride height was crash testing and bumper heights.
I knew I did NOT want to have to mess around with my bump steer (front or rear)or do extended front lower ball joints(roll center issues).

I had seen what kind of cuts produced what drops from online research,:read: so I assumed 1/3 rear 1/4 front would be pretty close to what I wanted, which was a slightly lower CG with out all the other issues that pop up on Fox based cars when lowered.:bash:

I was right.:-D

My stockers cut 1 coil on all four.

^^^ that looks good. I thought cutting 1 full coil would lower that bitch like crazy

That pic is giving an illusion some how. The car will be much lower than that with 1 coil cut, trust me. I love smacked whips, hence my name, but 1 coil is too much unless you want to scrape every speed bump and parking lot entrance you enter.

One important thing to note is different wheel/tire combos. It can make a car "Look" either higher or lower depending on the set up.

Here is my car with stock wheels but with 275/40/17 MT' DR's on the rear and stock factory 275/40/17 F1's on the front. 1 Coil front and H&R Race in the rear. (About 3/4 coil off stock would give you the same.) All with stock ISO's.

Same set up for springs with 18 X 10 rear w/295-35-18 and 18 X 9 w/265-35-18 front.

I cut 3/4 of a coil all the way around. I am very happy with the results. Rides like stock, handles better, and very rarely scrapes. Heres some before and after pics.
