Do I need to break in a new differential at all? Just rebuilt my rear end and wasn't sure

I just drive easy to listen for noises ( highway speed, cruise, deceleration, acceleration and turns) and its good, make sure you put the friction modifier in for the clutches also

The instructions usually list a break-in procedure. Some brands will have you drive in a figure 8 for a while, then change the fluid again immediately.

OP, did you install new gears or re-use your old set?

New gears, clutches and bearings:
- first 100 miles
- friction modifier
- low speed / light loads
- low speed figure-eights
- change differential fluid
- 500 miles
- friction modifier
- change differential fluid
- change fluid annually or how you see fit

New clutches and bearings (re-used old gear set):
- friction modifier
- low speed figure-eights
- change fluid annually or how you see fit

This is my opinion, I'm sure others may feel differently.
Good luck!
