Hey guys,

Thanks again for helping me with tires for my TBSS a few months ago. They look and ride great! Now I am moving on to tires and wheels for my 03 Cobra.

For the longest time I have used the following set up....stock 17x9 Cobra wheels with stock goodyear 275/40/17s up front with Nitto NT555R 315/35/17out back. This set up has served me well and looks great, but I think I am going to step up to 18 inch replicas that are 18x9 up front and 18x10.5 out back.

I am thinking about going with a 555 up front and a 555R out back. However, I am not sure what size will look the best. Can you help?

Would I go with a 275/35/18 or a 275/40/18 up front?

For the rears I can't decide on a 305 or a 335? I know a lot of guys squeeze the 335 555rs out back, but if i decided to just go with a 305 would I go with a 35 or 40 sidewall?

Thanks,

Tom

The 275 I personally think is too wide for the front. Id step to 255-265, but the 35 on the front would give it a more slick (drag) look, as long as you keep the rears at 40; however i have 40 on my fronts and it is nice having a little extra comfort.

Thanks for the input. Not sure i am going for the drag look. It's just so tough when you can't see the tires in person.

I am welcome to all suggestions though!

Thank you for the post Tom.

Given the 18" wheel dimensions and the tire models you are looking to run, I suggest 275/35R-18's in the front with 305/35R-18's in the rear. I know some guys are running 335's on 10.5" wide wheels but really you shouldn't run this width tire on a wheel narrower than 11.5".

For comparison, the 275/35R-18 will maintain the same width and height as your current 275/40R-17's. The 305/35R-18's however will be slightly narrower (.40") and will be slightly taller (.75").

Thanks for the information Matt! Appreciate the help. I might just stick with the 17s and get some 10.5 replicas out back. Keep you guys posted.
