Checked the codes on the car (03 Cobra) just out of curiosity and saw a P0148. No problems that I can tell. What would cause the code but exhibit no symptoms? Car has intake, exhaust, a VMP dyno tune, and a FPDM wire upgrade. All mods are at least 4 years old and I've never seen this code before. Some internet searching points to FPRS, but I pulled off the vacuum line and no gas smell/residue. Should I look at fuel pressure to see if its dipping under heavy loads?

If it hasn't set a hard code it might just be starting to act up. I've never had one go out electrically on my car, but it did happen on my wife's 06. It threw a code, but the car never acted up. You can datalog and see what fuel is doing, but it might not be a bad idea to throw a spare in the trunk just in case.

Thanks for the information. I'll look at fuel pressure and see if it's conclusive.

HC1 CHECK THE SYSTEM INTEGRITY
  • Visually inspect the complete fuel delivery system for damage and leakage.

  • Check the following:

  • Fuel lines and connections.

  • Relays

  • Fuel tank

  • Fuel pump

  • Fuel pressure regulator

  • Fuel pulse damper

  • Fuel rail at injectors

  • Damaged connector pins

  • Electrical connectors not fully engaged

  • Verify the vehicle has followed the maintenance schedule. (Fuel filter should have been replaced within the last 48,280 km (30,000 miles)).

  • Verify the Inertia Fuel Shutoff (IFS) switch is set (button pushed in). Refer to the Owner Guide for location.

  • Verify the fuse integrity.

  • Verify the battery is fully charged.

  • Verify clean sufficient fuel.
Are any of the above concerns present?

Thanks for the link. It doesn't seem to work however. I'll check over the list you posted to see if anything looks strange.
How far does link open ?
You may need to get back to login
To put your 14 digit card number

I had a link posted for a yr that just went down 1 click and in.

Reason I like it is because it works on a cell

Our site link you need a lap top or better

What I posted is step 1 of many

Pinpoint test HC is what your looking for

Pc/Ed section of Fords manuals

Its just codes and how to fix

Here is the importance to me about this section of manual.

you posted po148 with basic description.

manual has description and charts.

description. gives that basic but also

gives what the pcm had to see to set code
Than a list of items that may cause that signal pcm needed.

charts are tests.

code has starting point given for how code was received.

Key on engine off
Running
Continuous

each have pinpoint tests

Each test has a before. Tells what your testing and why
Than wiring information on connections

than many footnotes along the way
