Ok i got this from a person at work who's father is a member of the vett club it's about Pa. looking into out lawing non factory exhaust systems. here are numbers you can fax to .

That is sad. You would think with all the other problems a state can be looking into aftermarket exhaust would be down at the botoom. :shrug: If that bill is passed you are going to have some angry enthusiasts out there. :bash: Hope it doesn't happen.

That's weird, because I thought Pennsylvania already had a law similiar to that on the books for years. When I was about 17, which was oh, about 1971, I got pulled over by a Pa State Trooper and was cited for having an "altered exhaust system" on my 1962 Chevy SS 409. The only thing "altered" was the mufflers, which were flow-thru glass packs. I was told that the exhaust system had to be returned to "factory specifications" and had to have it personally inspected by the local judge, which was really odd. I believe the ticket was about $25 bucks, plus the cost incurred to have stock mufflers put on the car, plus court costs for the judges time!! Needless to say, my old man wasn't happy with me, but anyway, that was a law 34 years ago!!

i remeber the old glass packs cherry bombs and one other too thunder somethign or another.

funny you tell that story cause back in 71/72 my nova i got stopped by a state police and he made me close my headers up you remember the old spacer trick at the collector.well anyhow i had to do it right on the spot too luckey i carried the tools to do it with. from whar i remember from him it had to be tight no leaks . burnt my arms too on the pipes he was laughing is butt off at me too the whole time luckey i never got a ticket.
