I'm going to attest to this t-stat also. My car will not go over 190* w/ac on in stop and go traffic in SW Fl dead of summer. I have also revised my fan settings, and am running approx 80/20% water/coolant.

Stock t-stat. I set the low speed for around 186. don't remember the exact #. What is the average opening temp of the stock t-stat?

I think the hi speed fan runs when the car is warmed up and A/C is on MAX anyway though.

I think stock is 195

So I would think that the Reische t-stat will allow the engine to run cooler ONLY IF the radiator and fan system can remove the heat.
NOPE you didn't factor in the Stat itself, it takes very high temps for the oem to fully open that is the main reason Joel's performs, a modified spring is used.
