I've noticed that alot of people are using the stock handle with an aftermarket shifter. Is it still a short throw shifter with the stock handle?
Also does shorter handle = shorter lever arm= shorter throw = more shifting effort ?

That's why it's a short throw. The mechanism under the shifter still has to move the trans linkage the same amount. I missed a couple of shifts and made a bushing kit for mine so I could use the stock shifter handle. After getting used to the Pro 5.0 handle when I went back to the stock it felt like a shifter on a truck it sat up so high. I didn't like it at first but have gotten used to it. No missed shifts since I installed it. You still have the benefit of a shifter that will hit the gates better than stock.
