So I use a wheelchair since i broke my back almost 5 years ago and are pretty good at wheeling in my chair.....from what i have found online the record is 8.1 miles while doing a wheelie , I think i could beat that...of corse i would need to practice and train for it but i dont think it would be impossible for me to do it.

im not sure where to start....on making it official. has anyone on here ever attempted breaking a world record?

I have a new wheelchair on order and once i get it i plan to start training.

any info on how to go about this or where to start would help.

8.1 miles of what? just wheeling? that doesnt sound too hard. Hell, dont those guys do marathons in wheelchairs. (i know that those arent "typical" wheelchairs)

lol good luck man, 8.1 miles seems even far to walk. But keep motivated and anything is possible

8.1 miles of a constant wheelie without stopping....

have you ever tried to do a wheelie in a wheelchair? or tried actually moving while doing a wheelie? not as easy as you might think.

I would do a trial run and see where you're at. Then, once you get several miles under you video tape it and send it to guiness so that they can see you're not full of shit.
Good luck.

Well, you ruined my joke about the world record for sucking dicks. I can't mess with you. Good luck and yes that's a huge feat to accomplish. I can't do a wheelie in a wheel chair for over a minute. Post vids if you do it.

my cousin has cerebal palsy. Ive become very good at bustin wheelies and doing wheelie donuts in his chairs lol.

wouldnt attempt a 8mi tho. i think its definitely possible, but its gonna be a LONG 8.1mi (or more) and the amount of muscle control and endurance for maintaining balance for that long is going to be key.

im a master at the wheelie donuts....thats how i dance at the bars...:rolling:

i know it would take a ton of practice and training to do...but it was done in a gym where it was all flat....to me that is cake, i practice wheeling up and down inclines and hills.

When I was in my chair with my broken ankle I got good at pulling them, but could never figure out how to hold them.

just practice.....once you find the balance point its easy...I have only fallen 2 times i think and that was withen the first month of being in the chair.

I didn't understand from your first post that this was all while doing a wheelie. Puts a whole different light on it. I wouldn't even know where to begin with something like that.

Good luck.

8.1 miles is a long stretch. have you tried to see how much you can actually do?

no .....i need to find a flat place like a gym that i can use...and i need to get my new chair and get used to it cause the one i have now is falling apart.

i know i can wheelie up hill, down hill...over rough terrain so im sure on a flat surface i can go for a while. I also practice just sitting in one place wheeling with out using hands...just using my body to balance.

I just got the idea to do this a few days ago so i will begin training.
