A lot of you guys run big ass rears in your newer Mustangs (And I hate you for it;-) ). I am having some trouble with mine I thought you guys could help with. I have FR500's 9' fronts with a 255 tire and 10.5's with a 275 tire. Now, the rear tire does not look right, I assume it is because the 275 I have (a Falken) is just not wide enough for the 10.5 inch rim. Anther guy from the Corral (Novi 357) put a 275 DR's on his rims, and they look awesome.

I guess it comes down to not all 275's are created equal? Anywho, post some pics of your rear 10.5 inch rims and what tire size/brand you use. I have spent WAY too much money at this point just getting the car back together, so I really cant get new tires at this point, but I would like to know what to upgrade too. Some may ask why I would have Falken's (400 treadware rating) on a 600 rwhp car, the answer is simple, I got tired of replacing my tires every year:thumbsup: Anywho, here is my car with the rims on.

I had Falkens on a wheel before and they did the same thing, I sold them for something else. I'd say it's the tire. However you can put 315's on a fox without minitubs. Go on the corral and search.

Def the tire you have mine are a little better but the 275 is just a little stretched on a 10.5 in rim. Get some 295 or 315:beer:

I am running the 315/35 Sumitomo HTRZ on 10.5 17's on the rear. They look and fit awesome. I've had the tires for about 2 years now. Just really started lighting up the tires since I just got a KB 2.1 installed three months ago, and they are at about half tread now.

The MT 275 drag radials are quite a bit wider than other 275's. In fact they aren't much smaller than 315 Nitto drag radials. The 275/40/17 MT ET Street Radial is about the only 275 tire I know of that will fit well on a 10.5 wheel.

A 275 M/T should fit alright as they seem to run wider then most brands. I'm running some 315 nittos on my 10.5 set up.

Sorry I don't have better pics

its the falkens, I had a set of tires just like those, and mine were 245/45/17's on an 8.5 inch rim, and they did the same thing yours are doing. I just figured it was some sort of rim lip protection.

like a few others have said. not all 315 or 275 run the same size. you think there would be a universal standard but there isnt. nitto and summitomo run the smallest, bfg and mt run the biggest. like someone said earlier, a nitto 315 is about the same size as a mt 275. this is why people get away with running nitto and summitomo 315's on a 9 in rim.

if you are going to take pictures at night please use a tripod. The pictures are horrible and you cant see anything because its all blurred. Especially when your trying to show someone specifically and you cant even see the tires lol. Just my advice....not trying to be a dick
