I have a fully built engine in mine. I'll donate for the testing........ If I get to keep the Whipple. 20 lbs' of boost, no problem.

Charlie

My "L" is just begging for a Whipple.

Hey Jared, ask Dustin to give you the test vid so you can post it. I've already seen it, but I'm not allowed to post it.

Am I the only one that really isn't impressed with those results or am I missing something. Seeing 500HP ~18-19#s doesn't seem any better than a 2.3KB....The IAT2 temps look good though I guess...

500+ hp on a completely stock motor is pretty impressive to me. Figure with a good set of heads and cam, and exhaust, that boost level will be lower, with ver nice power

The key points are that the s/c is spinning MUCH slower to make the 18-19# compared to a KB of any size or the 2.3 Whipple, secondly the lower IAT2 temps that coincide with the effective greater efficiency make for a much safer discharge. These factors result in making said ~500 hp with less effort and at a greater safety margin than smaller s/c can and this pricipal continues all the way up to it's rated 30# continuous/14,000 rpm limit.

This s/c makes 18-19 with a 7.5" (stock) lower and 4" upper = 10,312 s/c rpm @ 5500 engine rpms (common shift point).

With a 7.5" lower and 3.75" upper it makes 20-21# = 11,000 s/c rpm @ 5500 once again.

On my engine with a JLP plenum and 2.3 KB I use a 9.75" (8#) lower and 3" upper to make 20# = 17,875 s/c rpm @ 5500!

I have to spin my KB 61% faster (11,000 divided by 17,875 = .615) to get the same results along with IAT2's of 150-160*!!

I guess I got carried away, lol. I'm just excited about this FINALLY happening.

so do you think this will be good enough to cross the 700rwhp mark? I just want to see a built one on a dyno and if it gets 700 or close I'm buying one.

I think it will boil down to how much boost it takes for conditions on a built engine. I may not be the first to try but I'm going for the 700+ RWHP mark.

this new blower couldnt of come at a better time, I was beginning to feel like the other trucks were beginning to catch up. This will keep us safely on top for a few more years.
