I will keep this MACA thread up to date on the NMRA Ford National Series at MIR May 3-5, 2013 with the latest information from NMRA. NMRA will be giving special considerations to MACA at this event so plan there for it will be the one to remember for 2013.

This event will also bring out each of the NMRA's premier heads-up classes - the epitome of Ford drag racing. For the first time, after much anticipation, the NMRA will be rolling into Maryland International Raceway for its third points event over the weekend of May 3-5, 2013. Royce and Jason Miller, owners of MIR, have been looking to include the NMRA in their awesome racing program for years, and a deal was finally struck to bring the NMRA to the Ford-crazed fans of southern Maryland.

How do I get involved?
With eleven classes of competition, the NMRA offers an option for anyone who wants to take a shot in their Ford-bodied, Ford-powered car - it doesn't have to be a real "race car". The entry-level TREMEC True Street class is the perfect spot for you if you've never been down the dragstrip before - it's designed for real, street-driven vehicles that are required to make a 30-mile cruise before making a set of back-to-back-to-back passes in order to determine the three-run average. The class competes on a real .400 Pro Tree just like the one that the NMRA's heads-up competitors see, giving everyone in the class a true feel for what it's like to be one of the NMRA's superstars! Bring your street car!

There's more than just racing action!
In addition to all of the action that will take place on the quarter-mile, the NMRA also has the awesome UPR Products All-Ford Car Show, which features over fifty different awards that are presented each day of the show. MACA will have a dedicated show area and allowed to have a shade tent. We will be able to leave our reserved spots and participate in the street cruise and race and come back to our spots. With the number of Ford fans and car enthusiasts in the Maryland area, we're expecting to see a huge turnout for the car show.

Huge Manufacturers' Midway & Swap Meet
Looking to buy parts for your Ford? Want a chance to meet face-to-face with experts from your favorite performance companies? This event will feature an awesome manufacturers' midway where you can find great deals on the performance parts you need for your muscle car or hot rod.

If you're looking for that hard to find part or a great bargain, be sure to check out the swap meet.

More information to follow

same order as the first pass, any attempt to gain additional cool down time between rounds will result in
disqualification. The only possible exception to this rule is the use of a parachute, if required by vehicle
speed. One crew member can be placed in the staging lanes to aid in the re-packing of a parachute,
however, chute must be re-packed in a manner so as not to be disruptive to competition rounds. There
will be a separate staging lane designated for any vehicle needing to re-pack parachutes. Any vehicle
unable to start under it’s own power will be disqualified. Once all rounds have been completed, prize
money and awards will be given based on the final average of all three quarter mile passes. During, and
in between, the back-to-back passes, no changes may be made to vehicle other than lowering air
pressure in tires. Fresh nitrous bottles, fuel, and ice may not be installed/replenished. Vehicles with air-towater
intercoolers may not add ice to intercooler tank between back-to-back passes, even if intercooler
tank is located in interior of vehicle. Driver is the only person allowed to push vehicle in staging lanes
between runs.

cases in which identical reaction times are made, qualifying position will be based on a first-come first
served: the first occurring r/t will be placed #1, the second occurrence of said r/t will be placed #2, and so
on. Class will be laddered according to qualifying positions following the first round of eliminations, and
then advance thru eliminations. Any negative reaction times will be placed at the bottom of the qualifying
ladder, the more negative or faster the reaction time, the farther down the ladder the racer will be placed.

Looks like as long as the tread width is less than 10.75. Not sure if they are Mickey's or not but their website says the tread width is only 10".

I would say your good!

Thanks for the info. I forgot the ET streets run narrow compared to the ET drags. :D My mind has been elsewhere lately. 12.5 street mickeys = 10" so I just make it under the limit.

I am investigating group hotel rates. How many will be interested? 1 or 2 nights?

Dahlgren is closer but has little to offer. Waldorf has more restaurant/bar options. Please tell me which you prefer? I am hoping to get a rate less than $85 in Waldorf. Dahlgren will only be a few dollars cheaper.
