Also, how did you paint your calipers? Just with patience and a steady hand?

I used automotive paint (same color code as my Vert). I went with base coat clear coat. After I cleaned everything up I primed the parts. Then I sprayed the silver metallic base coat. I used Ford black and a very fine paint brush and brushed the black on the letters. Then I used a decal I made of the snake and put it on the caliper (it's like a model decal you put in water and then slide it on).

Once everything was dry I used House of Kolor kosmic clear to clear coat it and seal everything under the clear. I like the House of Kolor clear because it uses a catalyst to harden. Don't get me wrong brake fluid will still eat it, but I'm very careful not to get brake fluid on my painted surfaces.

I have been doing the decal under the clear for a while now. Here is a picture of the oil pan I did on my 65.

Doing more routine maintenance. I flushed the radiator, removed the lower cage so I could replace the inner belt and I'm replacing all the bearings on all the pulleys. I'm waiting for my belts to come in then I'll put it all back together and install a 170 degree T stat. I'm also going to remove the factory plug by the supercharger and replace it with a stainless steel one.

NOTE: In case anyone is wondering these bearings are 6203-2RS C3 Premium Sealed Ball Bearing, 17x40x12. This is where I got mine from, but you can probably find them cheaper on eBay.

Okay, got all the bearings replaced in all my pulleys and reinstalled everything including new belts. Man it runs very quiet and very smooth. I decided to reinstall me belt cover (I actually like them better than looking at the blower pulley). I had to buy one off eBay. Here is my version.

Got my wheels back on and I added the Cobra R decal to my center caps. I know a lot of you are purists and like the factory wheel or the high end stuff, but I think it looks pretty good for what it is.

^^^ Thanks Sid. I'm not sure where I want to go or how far at this point. I'm just doing some basic things to get the car up to my standards since it has 75K miles on it and was looking its age a bit.

I'm repainting my hood. Got the top side taken care of, but need to finish the bottom side. The hood had so many rock chips it looked like it was driven behind a gravel truck LOL. I'll finish the bottom and install some new billet hood vents this coming weekend. On the cut and buff I used 1000 grit to knock down the clear (by hand. What a pain in the...). Then I hit it with 1500 with a DA and then finished it off with 3000 with a DA. Used the 3m 3 step polishing compounds to bring it back to life.

Here is my progress so far:

Okay, I got the bottom side of my hood completed this weekend. I have not put it back on as I'm trying to do some paint correction to the fenders so the hood does not stick out like a sore thumb.

This is the top of the fender BEFORE paint correction (You can see how hazy the reflection of the garage door looks):

I love stuff like this!! Great work!!! Car is looking great! I'm a big sucker for the small details, I love your Cobra emblems everywhere. Very subtle and when someone notices them they will pay closer attention to everything else, looking for other hidden treasures.

Thank you Huff-n-puff. If you like my Cobra emblems, wait until you see my next project. I think a lot of people here will be surprised. I'm taking an old Cobra emblem and adding it to our cars in a way that I have never seen done here before. Hopefully everyone will like it. Stay tuned!!!!

Okay, finished my project this weekend (The one mentioned to Huff-n-Puff above). I made a set of my own coil covers based off the 2000 Cobra R intake plenum. Trying to keep with the theme of my center caps. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep the oil filler cap or change it for something else at this point. Still debating.

Nice job. You've picked up the Cobra R queues really nicely. Way to customize your Cobra!

^^^ Thanks Bob. I appreciate the feedback. I know some of the things I do to my Cobra are not to everyone's liking, but I always like to make my Mustangs stand out from the crowd. The intent is to do mods that most people do not or to make my mods different from others. In this case people have modified there coil covers, but not like I have done.

Different does not mean better, just different LOL. However, I don't think the pictures do this particular mod justice.

^^^ LOL, You'll be doing me a favor as your valve covers smoke mine Bob. And I'm sure there will be plenty of awesome Mustangs at that show. I can't wait. Going to SD for a few days AND going to a Mustang show will be a blast!!!!
