Went to my local drag strip for the first time in my 2012 turbo coyote. I had a great time but when reaching the end of the track I had to shift into 5th which I know cost me some time. Do people here use 3.55 or 3.31 gears with boosted cars? I also have a set 15 inch Mickey Thompson ET streets on the rear. Managed to do 12.045 @124.49mph. Looking to get into the 11's with the new gearing.

Thanks,
-Ryan

What kind of power are you putting down?

Assuming you have 3.73s now?

3.31's will take you to over 140 in 4th and add 3-4 mph to your trap speed.

Make the switch. I ran 3.27s in my turbo coyote and loved them.

If you went Boss or CJ intake that extra 1000 rpm would solve your issue and probably help your times even more plus its way easier to swap lol

While the swap would be easier the gears are only $130 and I'd probably need to get the car retuned to get those extra 1000 rpms safely.

Very true as long as you're installing the gears yourself. Really the 3.73s cars are only good at the track with Boss or SCJ manifolds unfortunately due to the shift points

Micky Tompson ET Streets 325/50/15

I assume your running the ET Street R then. It is available in a 295/65/15 also which is 30 inches tall. That two extra inches if you can fit it will yield better traction and might just get you to the finish line in 4th. That's probably the easiest way to do it.

3.31 gears and a 28" bias ply tire in the back...air them to 12-14psi, dump it from 6k, run 10s.
