I'm thinking about a 2011 5.0 vert . My wife wants heated seats. The search function shows people making mention of a lack of adjustment on the heat. Not being specific in the answer does this mean the seats are to hot or not hot enough ?

Thanks for your help!!

I cant say as my car didnt have heated seats, if I had ordered the car i would got the heated seats, I loved them on my Taurus.

Having said that, I do have remote start and if I had to choose betwen them, I'd get the remote start, if I could have both, I would. With RS you can either get the car's AC or heat working (have to remeber to set it that way when you turn the car off). So with the car warming up while I get ready for work, the desire for heated seats is much less. Now the whole car is warm, with HS you have to get in and turn them on so you typically get in a cold car with a cold seat and it takes a while for the seat to heat up.

Yes, Al Gore will cry everytime you use the remote start. So plant a tree. :)

my factory heated seats work great! They auto adjust, meaning they don't get hot and just stay there they will heat up and than they will adjust to keep it at a comfortable level not to hot never to cold but just right.

Just an on-off switch...seems like it gets too hot for me. Since I ordered the car with the 'comfort package', I was a little disappointed. My Edge has two settings which work way better to me. Other brand cars I've had with heated seats were three level settings...

EDIT: IF your wife wants them heated, get them. Heat aside, I think the package is worth it. And they operate independently, so she can turn them on/off as she likes.

They are not adjustable. If they are like the heated seats I had in my 2008 they don't even really get that warm. They're also on kind of a timer and will shut off after a bit.

With that said, as much as I was disappointed at first that my car wasn't equipped with heated seats (stupid dealer), I don't miss them. The heater in this car could heat a hummer limo. You seriously roast in about 3 minutes.

No adjustment and to me not hot enough especially on very cold mornings.

Having the passenger seat adjustable for the wife was worth it though.

They don't shut off like the 08's do. I had them in my 08 also and it got a bit irritating when they would shut off. But the 11+ cars don't auto shut off!

Had the first cold day today and used them for the first time. They heat up nice and hot for a couple minutes to warm you up, then they lower and maintain a comfortable temp. I was super impressed for only having an on/off switch. the heat works pretty damn good too.

The summer pirellis however, were scary. Gotta switch to snow tires asap...

Agree with the above, my heated seats work great, seems like they keep it nice and comfy. I know I'm in FL but it gets cold here to (I'm a wuss, I hate the cold) so for me they are great. My Edge has the multi-level ones as well but I rarely take it off high anyway. Heck even my Goldwing has a heated seat and I just turn that up to full as well, but you really need it on that, when it drops below 70 out it gets chilly quick at 70mph...
