Use RTV on all the "pivot" points.

Also one thing the OP does not do that I did is the side clips that secure the vent to the pivot points in the bezel were loose. I put RTV all over them too. I may have used a little to much RTV because the side to side adjustment is stuck. But I'm not touching it. The car is so quiet I don't want to risk the rattle again!!! Its seriously like a new car.

I took the center right/left directional flaps right out (takes a little flexing of the vent frame) and put a tiny amount of black RTV in each pivot mounting pocket then re-installed the vent flaps back into the vent frame.

Then I came back 1/2 hour later and turned the flaps both ways all the way(several times). Repeat 1/2 hour later.

The directional flaps will now be movable yet rattle free.

I used a little too much on one or did not come back soon enough for the quantity I used because one vent tries to return to center... part way, so it will not stay at the extreme right or left, but it does still aim most of the way.

This is awesome because my vent rattle has been getting on my nerves. But I'm confused. I can't see where the RTV sealant is supposed to go. I don't see it in the pic. Can I get some help?

Try adjusting your monitor brightness. That should help identify the spots.

Ok now I see it. Now here's the thing...on my bezel housing there is this black, twizzler-like trim that goes around the bezel. I didn't see this on yours. Do I remove this twizzler-like trim and put the rtv on the bezel and put this twizzler-like trim back on there? Or do I get rid of this twizzler-like trim completely and just go with the RTV sealant as you did? Thanks in advance for your input.

Hmm that twizzler stuff you're showing looks to me like the stuff you use to install window screens. Maybe this is someone elses way to mod it to stop the rattle?

You're right. I don't know why I didn't pick up on it earlier. I'm embarassed. I removed it and put a thick layer of rtv all around the bezel. Also took Jimmy's advice and took the center right/left directional flaps out and filled each pivot mounting pocket. I'll know Sunday if it gets rid of the rattle.

I have not put it all back together yet so more may be required on the main bezel but I did a small amount of black RTV in each and every pivot point.

Took her out for a spin and that vent rattle is gone! Still trying to figure out what's causing that vibe at around 77-82mph but at least that vent rattle is gone. Great thread fellas. And that was a eal good sugegstion Jimmy putting rtv in the pivot points in your picture. Mine also got stuck in the center position.
