Great job!! In the 9's without having to tear the motor down---badass!!! I wasn't planning on doing anything to mine, but I may have to look into at least changing the gears and see what I can do with it for fun! :burnout:

This incites lust, great lust for a car I can buy, add a few bolt-ons to...and run 9's. Jesus, these ARE the glory days! Amazing job, Evo!

I'm just glad it was a shop that does installations, testing, and actually races that did this first!

Not one that just sells parts and has someone else install them, someone else drive the car, and then reap the benefits of "We did it first".

Great job again.

Awesome stuff. What is with the in and out throttle at the line? Is that launch control or something?
That mph is obviously huge, gears would likely be a huge help. low 140's is mid-low 9's territory.
That blue is nice. Still prefer white, but this color is growing on me.

L&M is littered with blown 5.0 block's that were FI. The blocks are cracking at the water jackets and the liners are separating.

That's all improper tuning IMO. Chris is running 1k hp, many others are running between 6-900 hp including myself with no problems. I'm also gonna take a stab at the mods....Lt's, xpipe, gears, more boost(o/d pull), full suspension(upper lower control arms, etc.) slicks of course, tune, intake, race gas, and since I don't think 15s will fit on the rear cause of the brakes(I think), maybe some diff brakes. I still am amazed though this is with the stock clutch, that's awesome.

hates to say it but for the price of a stock new gt with those mods vs a new gt500 with said mods, the new GTs are an even better bang for the buck

Am I biased, maybe :lol1: But it is what it is

Thats about the silliest statement I have read in quite a while. Now we are comparing the 5.0 to the new 13 Snake? Come on man..... :nonono:

600 to 900 hp is a wide range....50% to be exact.

Take a stab at running 1k hp on a stock 5.0 engine and see how long that lasts......you'd be borderline on a stock GT500 as it is.

Man, lately this forum has been giving everyone (Z06, zl-1, GT500, 5.0, etc...) delusions of grandeur across the board.

Stock block, not stock internals. We are talking about the stock block cracking.....no delusions of grandeur here. Everybody who is building these 5.0 bottoms are using the stock block, and most are using the stock crank.
