Just removed my JLT and went back to the stock box. Much more enjoyable without the horrible whistle the thing created on my car. Worst sounding intake I've ever had on any of my vehicles.

tell me do you feel a difference in the pull? and sorry you had to buy mine, i bet its for sale again :lol1:

$300 for minimal gains worth it? Thats up to the buyer.
As I see it minimal gain from a CAI + minimal gain from headers + minimal gains from going catless + minimal gains from weight reduction all add up to some pretty hefty gains in the end.
All the little stuff adds up.

So spend $3-$5000 on minimal gains to add up to what? 50 hp max? No thanks.

That would be a perfectly valid point IF the cai showed any improvement what so ever NA. But it dosent so the point is moot.

What evidence do you have of this, are you working off other people's oppinions or tests? Have u tested this yourself?

That's why I bought a twin turbo kit. Awesome power and "MINIMAL" boost. Gotta love making the same power as TVS cars with half the boost!

Honestly I don't feel any difference in the car right now except for throttle response which I would guess would be mostly tune related. I'm just glad to get rid of the weird whistle sound it made. Currently I'm running stock box, stock tune, Lethal O/R X, and Roush ABs, waiting on my tune update from Jon. Biggest complaint currently is having to deal with skip shift while waiting for my update.

No worries about buying yours. Got to try stuff out for yourself. It was for sale a week or two ago and has already been passed along to its new owner.

In all honesty though my car is probably going to get returned to completely stock this weekend though except the mufflers. I'm not as satisfied as I originally was with the car or thought I would be.

My JLT does not whistle. It makes a good deal of noise under WOT, but there is no whistle that I can hear.

That might be because your car is LOUD as hell and its damaged your hearing. :lol1:

I love the way your car sounded with the flows, but damn that was loud. (judging from your youtube clips)

Coming from someone who had a roush axleback and an ORX I'm suprised he heard any whistling maybe it's that little sound u get in your ear from excessive loud noise

LOL.

I have the stock mufflers on right now...I am enjoying the stealth. Still, the car is basically whisper quiet until you get on it, then there is just enough exhaust noise to blend well with the roar from the JLT. The Flows were not that bad, the Roush was unbearable and the Pype Bombs are glorious, but loud enough to cause vibrations that I cannot cure.

I have had GT500s on the car three times. I like them, but there is just something about them that leaves me wanting more. What I want is that Pype Bomb tone, at about half the volume. Maybe something like the Hearthrob axle back would do it, since it would add a second set of Bullets. With the Pype Bombs I basically have a Race Bullet cat back, but with the mufflers in the middle and resonated tips. The tone is different, and amazing.

You're reading between the lines. There is no gain. None. NONE. That's coming from the person who has been running against your experiment. That's coming from hundreds of other posts on the interwebz about these cars. That's coming from KB's dyno variable pdf that is pretty damn old. They are the equivalent to having axle backs, sound and looks. It does nothing else on a stock NA motor.

obviously hundreds of other posts and many reputable shops even one that is notorious with our cars here in florida have said otherwise, theres is always two sides to an argument it seems like you were set on this not making a difference from the get go unless i put buses on you which didn't take a rocket scientist to know WASNT going to happen but hey maybe even then im sure there wouldve been some excuse as to why it happened wether its me being cuban or that the rice and beans i ate werent as heavy as the rack of lamb you ate and that caused the difference in car lengths.

Ill stick with my guns it made a Minimal gain not huge MINIMAL if your not willing to accept that thats fine by me lol.. well try again once you put on your headers.

Just for clarification, did you add a CAI to an already tuned car, or did you add a CAI AND tune to a stock car? If you added a CAI and tune, we would all expect you to feel a difference. The general consensus is that the gains are from the tune, not the CAI.

Also, you can't compare dyno sheets from last month to dyno sheets tomorrow, that's just not how it works. Dyno results can only produce meaningful data when the same car is ran on the same dyno on the same day with no major atmospheric changes. Outside of that scope, the numbers are a random (and meaningless) point of data.

I added it to a completely stock car. Now as for your comment , it was from tune now CAI, well no sh**, the CAI needs a tune.
As for not tested on same day as stock numbers, well sorry, not sure about you I don't have the money to pay a shop a hourly rate to sit around and let me change the intake systems,
I didn't take it due to rain, but I know the DA was higher today, so if I were to have it dynoed with CAI and there was a increase ,then I would be satisfied,
I don't need laboratory perfect conditions to be a believer. If you read my post, I would do it over again just for looks alone, I see people spend more money on other mods for looks..

There is a gain, however it is not easily quantified at the track. I can 100% feel a difference in the way the car performs. It is not strictly a power issue though, it is just an overall difference. I also manage to drive the car down the strip more effectively with the CAI in place, for whatever reason.
