If it were a good run on the Shelby's end, it would take nothing short of a full built supercharged or nitrous setup to be even with him I would think.

So you're saying in order for a Mach 1 to outrun a stock older GT500 it would need a built motor and a supercharger or nitrous?

This just keeps getting better....

What does your SRT8 run? Just curious. I've been wanting to run one at the track and wonder how they do. I ran one on the street a few weeks back and put a few lengths on him. Do you have any timeslips or vids at the track?

I think that is a slight exaggeration on his part.

A Supercharged Mach 1 should beat a Stock 07-09 GT500.

A bolt-on Mach 1 should NOT beat a Stock GT500.

A Built Motor/F/I Mach 1 is going to be on par with a Pullied/Bolt-on 07-07 GT500.

IMO.

Stock 6.1 SRT8 will run 13.2 @ 108. That is average time, not hero runs.

A supercharged Mach 1 would be a stock 07-09 GT500, by several bus lengths

A bolt on Mach 1 COULD beat a stock GT500

A built motor FI Mach 1 is going to be above par with a pullied/bolt on 07-09 GT500

IMO

So, a F/I mach that typically runs low-mid 12's is going to put 10+ cars on a stock GT500 that can run mid 12's?

A bolt on Mach that typically runs high 12's is going to pull a GT500?

I'll agree about a Built Motor F/I beating a Pulled GT500, but will most likely get trampled on by a TS GT500

What does your Mach 1 run as it sits?

I went 13.3 with SLP mufflers in Chicago heat and after leaving the track got skull ****ed on the highway by an 09 GT500 fresh off of the showroom floor.

Machs run strong, but, I suppose there is no such thing as being realistic anymore.

I think his angle is that a well-driven Bolt-on Mach can beat a poorly driven Stock GT500.

We know that all things equal, the bolt-on Mach will get the Horn....

I think it would be hard for a bolt-on only Mach1 to keep up with a stock GT500, yes. Like I mentioned before, the 07-09's put average 440-460 or so to the wheels stock. So the only advantage you would have would be weight... not sure what the Mach's weigh.. but looking at arounf 3800 for the Shelby. Just a matter of power to weight ratio.. like any car. Not saying the Mach isn't a good car.. just a matter of what it would take for you to get 450 or so hp that it would take to the wheels. I think that would mean Supercharger or NOS.

No offense intended.

A what?! Bolt on Mach 1's run mid to low 12's!

Stock they run low 13's to high 12's. With the parts in my sig my Mach ran 12.60 the first run and 12.5 the second run. The only reason I didn't go for low 12's is because I didn't want to kill the stock clutch!

I'll agree about a Built Motor F/I beating a Pulled GT500, but will most likely get trampled on by a TS GT500

Absolutely agree..No way a built FI Mach could beat a twin screw GT500!!!!!!

What does your Mach 1 run as it sits?

Stock trans, stock clutch, stock shock/struts, stock upper control arms, stock lower control arms, stock springs in the rear, and stock everything else.

12.5 in the 1/4

Now that I've got solid bushings in the rear and more runs I'm expecting 12.2-12.3 with the mods in my sig.

I went 13.3 with SLP mufflers in Chicago heat and after leaving the track got skull ****ed on the highway by an 09 GT500 fresh off of the showroom floor.

I went better than 13.3 with the same mods as you the FIRST AND ONLY run that night and that was the first time I had ever driven a Mach 1 on the track. I don't know what you call realistic but I just call it how it happens to me personally.

Power to weight is a strong thing. There is alot you can do to a car to make it faster without adding power. One thing I will agree with is a bolt on Mach cannot keep up with a GT500 on the rollers!

Im pretty sure a F/I mach will destroy a stock 07-09 gt500. Most F/I mach's I've seen trap in the low 120's. I have a stock motor turbo mach, anyone around here have a stock or bolt on gt500? We could put this argument to rest in 3 honks! Lol

Mach1> 03/04 Cobra > 2011+ 5.0 > GT500

Mach1 is the new unbeatable platform!!!

This is not news.

Stoppy's car rips out of the hole and the GT500 prays the race lasts long enough that it can get some traction and catch up. Nothing to disbelieve IMHO.

Most of the guys on this site with Eaton swapped Mach 1's are running 12.1-12.3 @ 115-117. Let me guess, they are horrible drivers, or the elements are never in their favor? My friend which is a badass driver managed 11.8 @ 119 in an Eaton Mach with a 4.30 gear and DR's in cool weather. Let me guess, you could probably run 10's in one right?

Stock they run low 13's to high 12's. With the parts in my sig my Mach ran 12.60 the first run and 12.5 the second run. The only reason I didn't go for low 12's is because I didn't want to kill the stock clutch!

So, everything is stock according to your last sentence? I'm confused. You listed a few mods, but then say everything else is stock. How much weight do you have out of the car?

With just a 2 HP gaining muffler set, you went 13.3? What were the temps like? How much weight did you have out of the car? I'll tell you now that in 100 degrees I managed the 13.3 with more weight than your car had, I guarantee you.

I do miss my Mach, but, I realize that a Blown car is in a different league than a Bolt-on Mach 1. I.E. My 03 Cobra, my 05 GT, my old 07 GT, etc. Just going from experience of my racing days. I don't do that too much these days.
