I got these sitting here and i'm anxiously waiting for the CJ cold air intake. these are going into my 2013 Boss 302. I'm shooting for 500RWHP NA and hope to achieve it with this.

Do you have Long Tubes to go with these as well?

Holy shit that is moving!

How much do you think the 4.56's and TKO would have adjusted those dyno numbers?

remember the TKO was when it was on motor its a turbo car now with a C4 . I accidentally gave you guys STD numbers on the 525 dyno graph so id assume if the gears were lower it would make 525 SAE . So it kind of evens out .

You may not have picked up anything on e85 since you need bigger injectors to run e85 due to 30% more flow and you were probably almost maxing out your stock injectors as it was before e85...just theorizing here.

Whole heartily agree with you. I have never seen one car not pick up on E85 .

Sorry to hear that but every car we've ever E85 Swapped with bolt on's has picked up. Some 10rwhp some 15rwhp with matching torque numbers.

not only was that a benefit but you can also hot lap the car and its more consistent .

Me too, I wish that I had picked up some RWHP also...

Like I mentioned on one of my past posts I saw Ken do back to back pulls with the E85 and the car reacted the same without hesitation as it does on 93oct.

You where most likely running out of fuel. Thats why there was no gains from the E85 swap. The stock fuel injectors can not support mulitple bolt on's and E85.

I was told that the Boss injector are different from the ones on the stock Coyote's is this correct?

Thanks,

Manuel

I told by my tuner Shaun that the 47 injectors are fine and I have every bolt on in the book including heads and cams...AND e85

You may not need 60#...47# may do the trick but you'll need to have your tuner do a little math to verify :)

I have recently corresponded with Shaun and verified that the 47 lb injectors, part # 9593 lu 47, are sufficient for e85. I will be running kooks mid length headers with these.

The Boss alternator has a one way clutch so it freewheels off throttle.

Its a nice part...I put the kit in and pulley is larger and the bearing on the idler is much larger along with a metal vs plastic construction.

Its a pretty sweet piece. It also comes with a new longer belt.

Those are the Cobra Jet cams even though the box says Boss on it.

What is the difference in lift and duration between the CJ cams and the Boss cams?

I looked for it... could find it with google, must have typed something wrong. Ford Racing Web Site, answered some of my question.

Ford Racing Parts, cams
Exhaust
M-6550-M50BR Boss 302r
13mm lift/263° duration vs. 11mm lift/263° duration on Mustang GT 5.0L engine

M-6550-M50BEXH 2012 Boss 302 "The cams are used on the 2013 Cobra Jet naturally aspirated engine"
13MM lift/290° duration (stock 11MM lift/263° duration)

Intake
M-6550-M50BINT "The cams are used on the 2013 Cobra Jet naturally aspirated engine"
13MM lift/263° duration Boss 302r/302 vs. 12mm lift/260° duration on Mustang GT 5.0L engine

On the GT and Boss it would take both M-6550-M50BINT and M-6550-M50BEXH to be the same as 2013 Cobra Jet naturally aspirated engine.

So what came on the 12/13 boss engine?
Answered my question again... From RTD on another forum.

http://forums.themustangsource.com/f813/boss-302r-exhaust-cams-m-6550-m50br-509658/
This is my understanding:

Stock cam specs

GT
Intake: Lift - 12MM (0.472"), Duration - 260 degrees
Exhaust: Lift - 11MM (0.433"), Duration - 263 degrees

Boss
Intake: Lift - 12MM (0.472"), Duration - 260 degrees [Same as GT]
Exhaust: Lift - 13MM (0.512"), Duration - 263 degrees

Cobra Jet cam specs

M-6550-M50BINT (the originally planned Boss intake cam that didn't make it into production, it's used in the CJ)
Lift - 13MM (0.512"), Duration - 263 degrees

M-6550-M50BEXH (the CJ exhaust cam)
Lift - 13MM (0.512"), Duration - 290 degrees

So from what I have also read... if you go with M-6550-M50BEXH throwing on a set of Long tubes will gain you another 20HP...
I have the long tubes just now I need the M-6550-M50BEXH
And this build is getting damn close to blower build money.

So wouldd I be better off to sell what I have bought on the Cobra Jet stuff and port and polish my stock boss intake and buy the ford racing cam set and run those with the long tube headers I have on the car?

Honestly IMO I would keep the Cobra Jet Intake setup and clean it up like what Drew did here. It looks like he picked up both HP and torque and it looks like you would make more power with this over the ported Boss.
