I don't think that document looks very official. There are spelling errors and it looks like someone's custom order.

Still no update on horsepower/torque from Ford. Maybe trying a few last minute tunes to see if they can squeeze a few extra ponies out?

Wishful thinking imo....

How is this wishful thinking? They are using a better head design than the Boss as well as more aggressive cams and intake with larger exhaust and intake valves. As well as stiffer springs. So how is that beyond the realm of possible? Or are you just worried that a little GT will out power the Boss? Every thread you have posted or replied to has been pretty much bashing a car that isn't even in production yet. I understand everyone has their own opinion which is great, but you almost seem butt hurt over it. Your Boss is a great car to say the least, but the possibility of the '15 out performing it is very possible in terms of engine design. The mechanical information is there to show that this engine setup is nothing to sneeze at. Great flowing motor with the ability to carry high RPM numbers make this a strong combination. Keep in mind whatever numbers Ford produces will have to be verified at the wheels on a dyno. We all remember what happen in 2002 when the 03 Cobra was dynoed by a few shops. The numbers were considerably higher than Ford let us to believe. Unlike the 99 Cobra.

Ford said they arent raising the redline from 6700, so even with all the new engine advances i wouldnt expect a huge peak change. Curve gains would be great, and modding potential will obviously go through the roof, but as far as peak hp... id say 430 or so would be more reasonable at 6700 redline.

hp = (torque x rpm) / 5252. You can see it takes a much larger change in torque than rpm to make horsepower. Assuming redline doesnt change, peak hp shouldnt change much either. *Shouldnt, being the key word, i'm all for a 440+ hp s550 though... we'll just have to see.

There is a video that was posted on this forum where the Mustang Chief Engineer specifically said that raising the peak RPM was one of the goals. I'll try to locate it. It was a two part video on Youtube.

Honestly - I think it's the opposite.

I think they are trying to detune it.

Tiny air filter / airbox....and a super duper conservative tune, that can meet MPG standards - while still showing gains over the outgoing models.

Tune and Intake only S550's will make 440rwhp - Bet!

I couldn't agree with you more. With improved mecahnical components, the engine will make an increase in power, there is no way around that from an engineering standpoint. How Ford decides to introduce them is another thing. Detuning will happen from factory. Ford is notorious for this. This cars will be restricted tune and intake wise. And we all know what factory exhaust is like. It wont take much to get border line 490hp to the wheels with decent bolt ons and a good tune. The advertised numbers may not impress many, but the tuners I'm sure are drooling right now. There is no reason to not believe that mechanically this engine will not produce at least a 5% increase in peak power. The curve should be much improved with the increase in flow of the intake and heads alone.

Found it, 5:08 "its not going to rev any higher as far as the redline goes..."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dbi9hM-RWk

we're still taking stock coyote heads to almost 8K though, and with some revised springs / cams / heads and Boss-esque pieces, i wouldn't be surprised to see this engine handling 8k from the factory with no problem.

My opinion may come off that way, but its not. I would love to see the car have come out with a 200lb weight loss and 475hp..... not to mention look like a beast.... 1st I was disappointed with the design, than it gained weight instead of losing and I'm just affraid the power will just be one more disappointment. I have my eye on the GT350....I hope its 500+ na with all the brake and suspension goodies to put exotics on the trailer.
So no I dont hate it.... I guess I'm just not expecting much now that I have been disappointed with the design and weight.

One more thing... my disappointment is not just the s550 design...I was all excited about the 13 GT500 back 2 years ago. Itseemed like the perfect replacement for my C6Z... I had one on order to boot. Then a buddy got his, I drove it.... a big powerful engine in a tank is what I thought after the drive. Not to mention it couldnt even plant the power it had. I was so disappointed, I had already sold my Z out right. So I drove a 12 boss a friend had and no its not perfect, but it better filled what I wanted out of my pony car.so for the first timein my life I went with the less powerful car, and couldnt be happier.
Power isnt everything. The way the car drives and feels plays a bigger roll.... until I drive a s550, my opinion is still out.

Before I get in to it, the Boss is an awesome car. I love the design and idea behind it.

With that being said, before I ordered my 14 GT500 I had considered a Laguna Seca. I drove one for a weekend and it just wasn't doing it for me. If I was going to autocross it or take it around an actual track, it might have been my choice. The amount of torque, the "softness" of the transmission and the lack of a supercharger whine all played in to my decision of going back with a GT500. Maybe if I hadn't of had a 13 GT500, the Boss would've been enough for me, but after getting use to that, I just wouldn't of been happy with the Boss.
