Be sure and post up your results as well 'Bones. I have a set of baby CJ cams, but held off putting them in because I was told I would likely lose some midrange power. Haven't decided what to do with them just yet. But I am lovin' what these intake cams have done for the Coyote this far. Combined with the 4C converter this car is a totally different animal.

The project is a little out of budget right now with christmas and my tires being down to the wear bars. I am gonna sweet talk the wife on this! I dont want to wait until tax time. The install price is over 1500 with opg included :/ Gotta pay to play I guess. The camd are still being ground and the OPGs just shipped today, so this is a few weeks out still.

Update. Got some more cash flows in December than I originally anticipated. Project Wilma is a go. I am waiting on the parts to ship from maryland and rhide island, and then she is going to the shop. Super stoked!

I just re-read this post, and you're you doing the baby CJ cams and the L&M IO cams? If so, you have to post up a Dyno sheet! As I said earlier I have the baby CJ's taking up shelf space and might put them to work based on what I see.

I am hoping to perform back to back dyno pulls. One with my base mods, one with the camshafts and 92 octane, and then a final E85 pull. The only drawback is that I am keeping my factory headers, so it will be a little short compared to what most people could expect. Some people say the factory headers are well designed, and I want to test that theory.

i have the baby cj cams in mine. its not tuned for the cams, but they are still helping some. i plan to add the l&m intakes this winter. just changing the intake cams DOES NOT require puling the cover as long as a person is careful not to slide the main chain all the way off the exhaust cams. i will get them tuned together this spring.

you just have to move it far enough to get the secondary chain tensioner out. it comes out pretty easy.

Thanks for the pointer. I can't stand in one spot longer than 30 minutes, so being bent over a car for 4+hours is a no go for me.

It's pretty easy to pull the cover, I'd rather have the extra work space.

Well to each his own. There is plenty of space. I've had the cover off obviously, but I'd rather take three hours for the entire job.

Did you get a breakdown on the labor? Sounds like they are tagging you flat rate labor on the OPG's as though they are doing nothing else. The shop that did my cams did the OPG's as a courtesy since that part of the engine was already opened up. Labor on my cams was 10 hours, then the Dyno/Tune was another $400 on top of that.
You were quoted a little higher than what I paid, but not too far out of the ball park.

They are saying 3 hours extra just to do the pump gears. Im between a rock and a hard place since NO other shops in the area have even touched camshafts on a 4 valve Ford before, so it is what it is.

Have you tried contacting Brad's Custom Auto in Northgate? They've played with a lot of coyotes. Heck, I was just in their shop talking cams for mine today.

I talked to that shop but they did not seem confident with it. I found someone to do the install, hoping it all goes well so I can recommend him afterwards! She goes in monday for the install, but it will be a few weeks before I see a dyno and post a new thread. All I will have is butt dyno results on here for now!
