Apparently GT350 owners hired a good lawyer. They alledge that Ford knowingly sold "defective" cars and marketed them as track ready. They say the transmission and differentials overheat on the base and technology package cars.

Well that was the point of the track pack, was to add the cooling... I don't see this one going far if it makes it to court, but Ford may settle out of court just to get rid of it.

I'm sure this will ruffle some feathers on here but the most track ready Mustang they built was the Boss 302.

Well, it sounds like they got a decent attorney group.

I will say even though it's not the track pack car, it's still a GT-350. Kind of disappointing to me that the tech pack cars have(?)/had that issue of overheating.

I hadn't heard of overheating issues before this, but I haven't been following the cars closely either. Its not the first car thats had this issue though. GM's "track cars" have overheating issues too.

I'm curious what the outside temps were at these tracks where they claim to have had issues.

The Boss 302 transmissions would overheat as well, hence why the LS came with an air guide to cool them.

Does not sound like a valid lawsuit to me....

+1

I posted this on another forum

I'll be impressed if they can get anything out of it, but Ford was pretty open about the Track pack cars having additional cooling for this very specific reason.

Read about it in the GT350 subforum a couple weeks back.

Yea, don't see much coming out of this lawsuit.

If someone really wants a track ready race car, Ford offers track only cars.

They aren't marketed as a "track" car like the Cobra Jets are. I don't see them winning this.

What's crazy is the fact that they might actually get some money out of that suit, just because Ford might try to settle out of court... lol

I think that's what they are going for. You should see what this lawsuit entails.

They want Ford to reimburse the customers full price, pay them for decline in vehicle value, pay for punitive damages and to make changes to their "deceptive" sales and marketing tactics.

Shoot for the stars I guess. If Ford does settle, the attorney's are going to make a killing and the GT350 tech and base owners will get like $0.63.

Some light reading... From my owner package. Not sure how the law suit is going anywhere.

Rich people wanted leather seats, knowing it didn't come with the coolers and now complain. I also think ford realized this was bad because all cars have the coolers now.

I could see a diff cooler being good because the diff gets hot turning a lot on RC, but could someone explain to me why a manual trans needs a cooler? High rpms causing extra heat?

Why did they not buy track pack cars?

The coolers cost money and now they want Ford to pay the extra 3k they refused to pay for when they originally bought the car?

Sounds as they are 2 years old!

Seems like an open and shut case.
I wonder if any of those guys in the lawsuit read that.

Probably none. They probably want there GT tree fiddy for free. Plus some compensation they got so screwed.
