If it isnt a Twin Turbo with a 10 Speed auto as an option and possibly AWD, Then its going to be an automatic fail. The new Camaro ZL1 is already moping the floor with everything Ford has on the table right now.

Yeahhhhhh,.........I don't think it will be an automatic fail as you say. It "probably" won't have TT and I PRAY it doesn't have AWD.
When you say that the new ZL1 is mopping the floor with Ford right now, you mean just in a straight line, correct?? I think the GT350R holds up mighty well on the roadcourse. Drag strip is another story.

The plain ol ZL1 is faster than the R around the track. The ZL1 1LE will be that much worse.

Nah... Stock vs stock, comparing manual cars. They both would be identical at the drag strip. It really could be either cars win.

Really?!? I was always under the impression that the GT350R was faster over the new ZL1 around the track? Well, that's pretty impressive from Chevy then. They can do it at both the road course and drag strip.

I think Vengeance Racing is getting ready to release a beast of a ZL1 car soon. They're doing some R&D on an A10 ZL1 now.

I guess you haven't heard the news, SVT has been dead since 2014. SVT, Team RS and FPV merged into the global "Ford Performance" brand.



Because its all speculation. Car and Driver has done this for over a decade.



They won't. I believe when the S550 platform came out or was right around the corner, they said doing a twin turbo V8 wasn't going to happen due to cooling and structural safety reasons.

For an all-out track day, I'm confident the GT350R will just have more track stamina than the ZL1 and the ZL1 1LE. They punish their tires too much, and will get progressively slower, lap after lap. They wouldn't make it a whole day, I don't believe.

Yep. In testing they had nearly identical 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. Which is a testament to the GT500 since it was 4 model years older. Hopefully the new one improves on that.

All I have to go by right now is Ring times. ZL1 beat the R by 3 seconds. The only possible scenario where the win could go either way, would be on a very short and technical track. On most scenarios, I give the advantage to the ZL1. Now, this isnt even taking into account the 1LE ZL1. The 1LE ZL1 makes short work out of the regular ZL1 at the track. It will do the same to the 350R.
