Hey guys, I am glad to see that there is a thread on here for the upstate! I am new to the area (sort of, grew up in Brevard NC, so not far from here) and just moved to Spartanburg. I have a lot of 'mustang' friends in the area that I met through different forms of social media (mostly instagram) and am trying to get involved with the car scene here as I get closer to having my car back in my possession. (currently wrapping up a 2 year long build)
I did want to let you guys know that I am planning a meet in the upcoming months, and would like to invite anyone who wants to come. I am shooting for the end of February/beginning of March, but I will know a for sure date when I have my car back. The catch to this is that it won't actually be in Spartanburg. All of the locations I tried to get were denied permission, so with that being said, I am hosting it at my dads gym in NC. It is roughly a 45min- 1 hour drive up the mountain, but he has a gravel lot with a large grassy area next to/around the building. Large enough to hold 150-200ish cars if lined up right. There is also more parking across the street, and we are working on getting another grassy area next door as well. All in all, we are expecting a very large turnout, as I have received a huge amount of interest through instragram.
As of now, the plan will be for all of us to meet somewhere in Spartanburg, and cruise up together. For those who are interested, please follow my Instagram @kline2012, as that will be my primary source for sharing info about the meet. I will also update this thread with the exact time/date and addresses for the meeting point in spartanburg and where the meet is in NC.
