I guess you've never been to, or been related to, anyone from Texas.
You don't mess with a mans property, his family, or his home. But that's also the South in general. I've heard a few stories here and there about thieves "disappearing" after they get caught. No idea if it's true but.. around here? Could be.
I love this state! Yes we can use deadly force to protect property.
A person is justified in using deadly force against another to protect land or tangible, movable property:
(1) if he would be justified in using force against the other under Section 9.41; and
(2) when and to the degree he reasonably believes the deadly force is immediately necessary:
(A) to prevent the other's imminent commission of arson, burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, theft during the nighttime, or criminal mischief during the nighttime; or
(B) to prevent the other who is fleeing immediately after committing burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, or theft during the nighttime from escaping with the property; and
(3) he reasonably believes that:
(A) the land or property cannot be protected or recovered by any other means; or
(B) the use of force other than deadly force to protect or recover the land or property would expose the actor or another to a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury.

I'm sorry that a piece of metal is worth more to you than the potential of you being drawn through a massive legal battle to prove that you had the right to do what you did. Seems like a lose lose for you in that situation.

Hell I personally think we should go back to the Wild West. Everyone wears a bigass revolver and shit gets settled right then and there. You'd be a lot less likely to take another man's shit or do any of the other crap people get away with on a daily basis if it meant you might get your ass shot over it.I'm sorry that a piece of metal is worth more to you than the potential of you being drawn through a massive legal battle to prove that you had the right to do what you did. Just stating the obvious here. Depends on your state.
Definitely contingent on the state. Since RDJ, the OP and I are all hicks living in Texas we are definitely talking about the use of deadly force in the context of Texas.
I noticed that, but I don't think everyone will lol
Are you referring to criminal or civil action?
