I cant comment on each pic individually so the descriptions are: Chevy Cruze Gobstopper rocker panel garage repair, shooting range we built at my friends house, F100 on a Crown Vic frame with bags and a Coyote we painted, and then my grandpa in WW2 and then I think my great great grandpa in WW1.

not at my post...
From what I saw there was probably a dozen or so left there. Some were washed up on shore while orhers were out in the water sticking up.View attachment 1464703View attachment 1464704View attachment 1464705View attachment 1464706View attachment 1464707

awesome, thank you for sharing! My great uncle Ray on dads side was at Iwo...somehow by the grace of god he lived thru it. Ray died when I was little kid in the 80s, always remember him with a cigar and beer/drink in his hand.

If he was on Iwo then he was a hard mother****er! I wish everyone could see how small the island is in person because it makes it unbelievable how many thousands died there. I may be wrong but off the top of my head I think the KIAs were 26k Marines and 48k Japanese. The Japanese fought to the last man. We shelled the island for days beforehand and when we landed we expected a fight from the start, but the Japanese stayed underground. So the Marines got off the boats ready to go but there was nothing, no one. It was like a whole day before the Japanese came out to fight as we pushed through an island that you can walk across in less than an hour.
