Waxed a brand new vette on the freeway this am...3 times. Last time he took a run at me. Waited until he was right about to pass me before I hit it. Walked his ass and I bet he had 15-20mph on me.

3rd gear 80-120 is my go to now.

The female passenger in the vette gave us a thumbs up lol

I loved how the LT motors sounded with exhaust. A guy I went to high school with had a purple Z28 with exhaust and it sounded fantastic.

I need to find a vortex and find the universe where a 2000 ws6 could be optioned with an ls7. Imagine how fun that car would be with a well engineered 505hp factory package.

If only in this universe there had been 10 years faster engine research and facilitation.

Imagine a 662hp trinity 03 cobra... had these options existed, I think the internet would have exploded

GM really got carried away with their RPO codes and to this day they still do. WS6 was basically suspension, struts/shocks, springs, thicker swaybars, wider wheels, exterior trim....FWIW heard WS6 was originally quick reference for Wide Suspension, 6 pieces.
...and the Firehawk was and is more desirable.

I briefly considered a firehawk before trading my 01 cobra for an 03 cobra. Beck & Masten GMC/Pontiac still had a firehawk and WS6 on the lot and boy were they proud of them. I got my 03 cheaper than their marked up birds.

I have had 4 f-boats over the years, still have my 99 SS. Have had just as many mustangs too, lol, think I have a problem.

Spent my senior year (1999) working at a chevy, pontiac dealership doing porter work. Remember driving my first SS Camaro. The sticker price was 32 grand. The T/A ram air car is the best looking car from that era.

When the Cobra came out I was 22 and it was long past what I could afford working at a nursing home and walmart. Ive seen several on the road over the years and they still are great looking cars with meaty tires in the back. When it came out the Cobra was a game changer as was the Ford Lightning with its supercharged engine.

The best car we had come through when i worked at the dealership though was a MTI built Corvette with a 427 making 600hp.

Saw a red 1st gen last night. I parked beside it and was amazed at how much smaller it was then my sierra. I see both regulary down here for some reason. I always figured they are what gave Ford the idea to put a blower on the Cobra engine

I couldn’t afford the cobra so i looked at a GTO and Wiesner in Huntsville said sticker or no sell. I told him to kiss my ass that the car wasn’t worth it and that bitch sat there for months.

Towards the end they couldn’t give GTOs away. Think many dealers shot themselves in the dick with markups, refusing to deal on those cars early on. I went to test drive one and they had to roll a start cart out , because it had sat so long:D

When the 4th gens were still LT motor’d cars you could pick up an LT4 optioned WS6, Camaro SS, though they were really expensive for the day.

Ford has definitely beat GM in the naming dept, creating mystic around their cars. The cobra and Shelby monikers are a helluva cooler than rattling of some rpo code.

Yep I believe there were 29 Firehawks and 100 Anniversary SS Camaros with the LT4. Rare and expensive. I wanted them.

My '95 Z28 had a built 396 LT1, H/C, etc with a 200 shot on it. Not much could beat it on the street back then. Still to this day the best sounding car I've ever owned.

Its a 15 year old car that can handle 700hp on a stock engine. It’s not the fastest thing on the road but it’s still a beast of course. It’s a timeless car. Will it get beat in a race? Yes. Would I trade it for the car that beat me? Not a chance. It’s a special car but yes and yes lots of faster cars these days

Buddy who destroyed the GTO got another one with the 6.0 and 6speed. Runs decent for what it is. I tried to get him to hold out for a terminator, but he wouldn’t listen

Bought mine back in 06 and to this day its still therapeutic to get in it and go for a drive after a long day at work. The interior sucks, the seating position sucks, everyone will rag on the noodle chassis but its all good. This will hopefully be the last car that I throw decent money at, it's too expensive to start over lol. All that aside I would love to pick up an s197 to daily, they're becoming very affordable and are fast and comfy stock.

I don't want to spoil your milk guys, or go back on what i've had to say in this thread, but..

I just bought a one owner 03' Cobra vert for 7k, and passed it through to a friend for 8.5k in the same day. Running and driving, completely stock. Needed a blower (making noise), IRS rebuilt, and a top motor.

So while these cars are gold in a lot of circles, they aren't always.
