If the vettes can only get back on track with weight like the C6 did, they would stand a better chance in straight line racing. I guess with all the regulations that GM has to meet while keeping the cost down is a tough balance.

I don't think anyone here expected different given the fact that every other video since it was launched has it kicking ass with cars more powerful than the ZR1. Stock & Modded.

I expected the 720S to take the win, but not by as much as it did. Wow! As awesome as BOTH cars are, the McLaren is absolutely sick.

Not only that, he had a passenger. I'm pretty sure that particular ZR1 on that day weighed 4000lbs. To be fair to the Mclaren, it's passenger probably at 200. Sooo 3300~ vs 4000. The ZR1 driver seemed pretty cool about the slaughter though. He got handled by a few cars that day. A pulley & tuned hellcat, a 1300hp GTR and 720S. He managed to pull a win on the Trackhawk though.

GM really needs to put the vette back on the C5/6 diet. Imagine a C6 Z with the powertrain the ZR1 has now, not to mention a C5. I don't know how other manufacturers are getting around all these regulations Ford, GM & Dodge have to that are causing them to turn into obese cars but something has to be done. I'm guessing they will forever be that way unless the price goes up to really start messing w some alien tech those Mclaren's are using.

Exactly what I expected. The 720s is just a nasty car. It is such a huge generational leap in my opinion compared to the 650s. I think everyone was shocked when this car came out. The electronics in this car are the big leap in my eyes not the power as its easy to make power these days with turbos. (traction control, the aero, transmission tuning etc. allowing the 720s to launch so hard on not even the stickiest of tires) It has over a 10+mph advantage of the 650s or any other car in its class in the 1/4.
