Hitting on the exterior somewhere?

You just kinda eyeball the input shaft as centered as you can. At the same time you can lay directly underneath and to the side to eyeball an even gap at the trans to bell (you separated if I recall).

Then just put some pressure forward until the splines hit the pp hub. While in gear you can then grab the output shaft and turn it slightly while applying forward pressure.

Loosen the motor mounts and tilt the engine back. I usually put a piece of wood under the crank pulley and jack it up a tad. Just watch how far you tilt it. You don't want to put the blower into the firewall. But a little extra angle makes a big difference in lining things up.

My mounts were brand new and I just went under the pan w/wood and didn’t loosen the mounts. Very light pressure tilted it back plenty in my opinion.

BRADY some suggest putting a graphite lube or antisieze on the splines. I did this time just because my car sits a lot. Light coat and then wiped off everything I could with a dry rag. Left a light coat on.

Still got to torque the transmission bolts down. Probably done for the day.

Thanks. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous starting it up. Should be tomorrow or Thursday.

I’m sure it will be fine but I get what your saying. How many break in miles you think you’ll get before storage?

I’d leave it on the stands to adjust it. I had mine running and I set it up to where the TOB was spinning but if I pushed back on the fork with my hand it would stop. Soon as I let go the tension in the cable would pull it back and it would spin again.

Good question. Hoping for 100.

That's the plan. I generally have my tob so it barely spins with clutch pedal out.

She's up and running! It's rainy weather so I can't go drive it. I'll get the car back on the ground and do a little forward and reverse in the garage.

Clutch seems to release pretty low from the floor. That will take a little getting use to.

My Mc Leod does the same and is the lightest pedal I’ve had in a Mustang.

So yours releases just off the floor? I'm actually going to do some more adjusting tomorrow. I'm also going to have the tob spinning constantly, at least for awhile to see how it goes.

My previous tob looked pretty hot. The part that touches the pp was a red/orange color. Same with the pp fingers. And this was with the tob damn near not moving while in neutral with clutch pedal released.

Actually not off the floor but I’d say close. It grabs and engages quicker than any other clutch I’ve driven lightest pedal too. Never had a twin disk till I picked it up in 2013.

Cool. This clutch pedal is super light to, it's crazy.

You can’t adjust the engagement with the cable, that’s the pivot ball.

My RXT was super high but I liked it.

Shortened the pivot ball for the RXT 1200 and at first I thought it was too low. Week later I loved it.

And yes, the TOB gets cooked if it has to speed up to the clutch RPM in between shifts or when you first press the clutch.
