I love the fact that they decided on the 6.4 over the 5.7. No Fcks given. Now here is the question. A fully loaded Rubicon goes for over 60k. Will these models clips 65+ for the loaded models ? A lot of coin for a wrangler. I still like the diesel idea too especially for crawling around rocks

The deal is there is a market for it.

I bet you if Ford dropped that 7.3 in a Raptor and charged $10k more, dealers would sell out with a 5k ADM.

A Hellcat Ram and a 393 Wrangler Unlimited will both be stupid expensive l, but will also both sell to the deep pockets crowd.

People joke about how expensive Wranglers are, but then forget the owners don't blink when it comes to swiping a credit card to top it off with a other $30k in wheels, suspension and cosmetics.

I sense a little concern with Jeep though. They have had no competition for all of these years and now that the Bronco is being unveiled in a few days they make a move to steal the spotlight back by announcing a V8? To be honest, I thought the Wrangler already came with the 5.7 but I must be thinking of something else. Jeep is trying to make itself look unique because they are concerned that the Wrangler as it is won't be enough anymore, and they are right. The Wrangler leaves a lot to be desired that Ford will capitalize on.

Uhh...have you ever met a Wrangler owner? Ford won't be getting very many of those customers IMO. May as well be a cult. Lol

Side note, this could also be the Gladiator, as the front is pretty much indistinguishable between the two.

I think if anyone one should be worried it's Toyota and the 4Runners.

4Runner is pushing +10 years now and is a $40k truck with a meh-6 engine.

It's the last Body-Frame "small" SUV.

There's hard-core buyers of every vehicle that will never change. There's plenty of bros and blondes that just want something to look cool in and Jeep has to worry about losing those customers.
