Just talk about what was going on. The vendors brought the heat I suppose, if the EPA keeps announcing new targets and visiting the bigger shops, pretty much worst case scenario for the mod world.

The EPA just showed they will not only go after devices, they will go after the software.
Until someone like the Sausage King goes after the EPA. Perhaps a hybrid between the Sausage King and Dexter?

It’s a smart move. The EPA has employed several clowns to do nothing but scour the internet for products, devices, parts etc.. A simple google search will bring them right to threads such as this within online communities giving them even more information and ammunition to increase their targets.
Interesting, Hellcat.org closed the thread about the crackdown.[/QUOTE

Good point. I wouldn’t know what goes on with Facebook. I refuse to use that ****ing shit bag site. I logged into my account for the first time in like 3yrs the other day and wanted to stab 75% of the people on there within minutes. And they were on my friends list.

Censoring posts and threads about this will not magically make it go away. The EPA and their far left master's want to ELIMINATE our hobby and sport.

It's not about the science, because if it was, we would be following the Brazillian model and going ethanol for gas powered cars.

This about THEIR power and control.

The manufacturers want this as much as the gov too. The same software that allows repairs enables modifications. So I doubt anyone with enough resources will help, just look at VW's billions in fines.

I know diesel has its own issues to deal with too, but unfortunately, they're tied to the hip with gas tuning right now as well. All the diesel devices that have gone away also supported gas, so it is the same fight IMO. I don't even want to mess with mine thats been apart in the garage all winter anymore. I might as well wait and build an offroad buggy or megatruck at this point.

The problem with everyone individually suing the EPA is I'd bet these small companies are underfunded and can't properly provide the amount of resources to beat the federal government. And once they lose, their case becomes precedent.

This a common tactic by state, & local governments. Make an unconstitutional law, tie up Joe citizen and his $2500 lawyer who are fighting it in court with the enormity of the entire govt. Joe citizen loses and the law is upheld by the courts and therefore legitimate.

That's why gun rights groups have the NRA, GOA, and SAF. What do we have, SEMA? SEMA seems to be content embracing the electric future of stickers and wheels.

Just got an email from Kooks wanting me to fill out a waiver before my headers are made that includes my vin#. This sounds like trouble, seriously thinking about canceling the order.

Ask them why, might be to just verify you are ordering the correct set. Just give them a VIN of a similar car off Autotrader.

You would have to pay with Bitcoin, use a fake name, stash house address, along with another VIN, to stay truly anonymous

I think if the EPA decided to fry all the fish in the sea, trying to hide what car the part was going on would be a very bad idea. Better off buying used or through a reseller.

No law exists to support that.

MFG and Shops all the time ask for VIN to verify fitment and CYA.

Your own CYA is that if the EPA ever did a VIN dump to send out letters or flag VINs your not on the books.

They don't ask for waiver letters.

No it’s Kooks covering their behinds. It’s a waiver wanting you to verify that it’s illegal to install on anything with a vin# and you are subject to 4K fine a day until it’s fixed.

The way this is going, Kooks 50 year business, is done. Who is going to sign such a letter, in these times?
