This is a prototype of the upcoming mid-engine Corvette Z06 testing in light, body-hugging camo as it arrived for track testing. This is the first time we’ve seen a C8 Z06 in body-hugging camo instead of the heavy vinyl cladding worn by previous prototypes.

The prototype seen here features a more aggressive front fascia with various additional aero bits not seen on the current Stingray. The body is wider and a very prominent wing spoiler can be prominently seen out back. A set of black five-spoke wheels and center-exit exhaust is also seen in the back.

GM has announced that the mid-engine Corvette Z06 will be revealed later this year and will launch for the ’23 model year.

Not a fan of the Sea Gull spoiler, but like everything else.

Its not as aggressive looking as I hoped
IMO, vette’s recently have tended to be overdone from a styling perspective. I can appreciate a more conservative approach. Something tells me though, once we see it in it’s final form, all those aero bits and duct work will heavily contrast against the wide body, and it’ll look pretty racey.

works for me. only downside is the allocation will take 3-4 years unless you already have one….or pay 50-100k adm.

the waiting list at Kerbeck and others is out several years.

What specifically were you looking for?

I agree with @GTSpartan's comment about the aero pieces/duct work likely heavily contrasting against the wide body. To me, this prototype looks darn nice, in a racy way.
More aero and wider. I'd like to see another ACR-E level of car again.

This mule doesn't look a lot different then the Z51 with the add on wing

As history has shown with the c6 and c7, the wide body addition alone is a massive improvement/upgrade in the looks department over the base car. Add in more aggressive wheels/tires/brakes and a different front and rear bumper like shown and this car should fit right in line with previous generations. Not sure what else one could expect? Kinda like saying the gt500 doesn’t look much different than a gt with the performance pack.

That's what I mean, it doesn't stand out like the previous Z's did, at all.... When I look at this picture it looks like a standard C8 with the dealer installed wing.

I'll put down my pitch fork until I see better pictures in proper paint

Isn't that always the way it is though? At least for the c6, I remember the z51 having the same looks as the zo6 with minor differences

*edit*
There seem to be more differences than I originally remembered

The Grand sport had the Z06 nice wide hips, Z51 was the basic flat sided car. I don't totally care if they go full ACR with the aero, I just want to see some thick ass

Might I suggest looking at the videos of it running around at the Ring? That may or may not change your mind? Not to mention the glorious noise coming from the FPC. If someone made me listen to the last video without watching it, I’d think I was listening to an IMSA race.

actually yes, that does help, the pics in OP are really bad.

And the engine is a glorious choice for sure.

Even in those vids... the engine revs noticeably slow.

Can't wait to see the 1/4 #s.
