Got back under there and took a picture. What’s the hole on the left? Is something missing ? Looks like that’s where the sensor would be if I’m not mistaken….I don’t have any lights on the dash so unless the previous owner removed the sensor and did a bypass I’m not sure why it would be missingYes.
The Engine coolant radiator burp fill procedure
From one of the Ford Service publications. Radiator Re-Fill Procedure Re-fill the radiator with a 50/50 Mix of Gold Anti-Freeze and Distilled Water following the procedure below to burp air from cooling system. Re-check Radiator Fluid Level. Repeat as necessary to ensure proper engine cooling...www.svtperformance.com
Can anyone confirm if that’s the port for the coolant level sensor ?I’m not sure what that hole is. Doesn’t look stock.

Should it be blank like that? Wonder if the previous owner did a bypass…also could it potentially be leaking from there ?Yea believe that’s correct.
Thank you very much for all the info!Yup, It is the level sensor cavity.
The sensor goes up in and is surrounded by a cavity that creates a float rail.
Not used or part of the gauge cluster after 99.
Open the cap and you may see the foam float.
I have no idea whether the Terminators even had that sensor mount type of tank or float. Maybe the tank was replace once already.
The Dorman unit is good.
You could also get an AL unit with a side level indicator and never worry again..
Got it! Thank you - new tank is ordered and on the way.Pressure is was causes the leak. So yeah, it most likely has a crack that only leaks when enough pressure builds up inside of it.
