Since were focusing on the letter P there is also the Peter principle:
Workers get promoted based on success in previous jobs until they get to a level at which they are no longer good at their job since skills in one job don't necessarily translate to another.
Saw that for decades when teachers made the jump from the classroom to administration.

I don't even want to think about it. My check yesterday was 800 in taxes for 2 weeks. It's been theft for years and they spend it to suit their party and other country's like our money grows on trees.
Even worse is sales people promoted to management. For the most part they are horrible. Also, engineers being promoted to management.
What I don’t quite understand sometimes is why managers (who typically don’t do anything but delegate and prioritize work) have to get paid more than the front liners who actually do it and know how to do it welll. I’m in software and data, and why manages who do nothing but tell us what to we need to code, get paid more than us who actually know how to do it. Bugs me but such is life. It’s Out of my control. And yes, most managers couldn’t tell you how to write one line of code….
Isn't it funny how we were a country for 130+ years before the 16th amendment was ratified? Battleships were still built, roads were still paved, schools still existed in those days and the decades prior.Taxation is theft. Far too many idiots vote to raise their own taxes. I don't understand all these idiots I have to put up with in this country.

Place I work at has the mentality of hating to promote from within.
“ if you’re good at your job why would we move you. We would have to replace you then “

I always say that payroll deductions shouldn't be allowed. At the end of the year everyone should have to go write a check for the SS/Medicare/Medicaid deductions as well as local, state and federal taxes. Given that at least 75% of people would never have the funds to cover that bill, people would start voting REAL QUICK for politicians who want lower taxes.
I hate taxation will all my being but if there is an appropriate place for it then "user fees" makes the most sense. Use more government resources? Fine, you pay more then.
