also any races on the street are in a controlled enviroment

O/T: a completely stock 06 ZO6 on drag radials ran a 10.85 a couple weeks ago. Its a shame when a $70k run of the mill Vette can walk all over Ford's $160K super car. Not to mention what it would do to the new fat pig Shelby.
Yes, 1400+ rwhp is awesome for a street car... thats what about 1650 flywheel hp? Where is he getting the car dynoed? I thought most dyno's could not handle over 1200 hp.
GTSpartan said:That's WAY too much power for a road course. You couldn't even keep it on the track.
01cobravortech said:I just don't see how there won't be traction issues with doubling the horsepower like that. How much faster does a GT have to be than what you get in stock trim?

The bottom line with Ranger's run is that no one else will be able to duplicate it. In the hands of anyone else, running at a less than perfect track without the aid of negative DA, it's a low 11 second car at best. Regardless, I don't know anyone that wouldn't rather have a GT than a C6 Z06.
As for the fat pig Shelby, can you name another mustang that can make 600rwhp and tq reliably with the stock blower/longblock? With a 2.8L TS swap (everything else bone stock save tune) they are making 750rwhp on pump gas. I don't give a **** if it does weigh 3850lbs (coupe w/ shaker 500) it will eat most any C6 Z06--with ~600rwhp they're trapping 133+. You're also forgetting that what can be done to the GT can be done to the Shelby. Yes, TT 1000rwhp GT500s will soon be roaming the streets. Looks like it may be time to dump one of those woefully underpowered 93 Cobras for something that can not only get out of its own way, but doesn't squeak, creak, and rattle every time you drive over a sealant strip in the pavement?
In conclusion, do us all a favor and take that inferiority complex over to vetteforums where it belongs. Thanks.

I am a diehard Ford person and would never own and GM or D/C product.
1) Street Racing is STUPID and endangers everyone. It will be a sad day when you have to learn the hard way. You kill someone or a family member or friends is killed because of it. They make race tracks for a reason.
2) If GM can build a lite weight 500+ hp N/A car that can run 10's why can't Ford. We are stuck with 4K lb cars that have to have lots of boost to make it go fast. Just think if GM were to stick a Turbo/Blower on the Z06 engine. That's the point I am trying to make.
3) Ford needs to build a 6.0 L N/A 4cam motor and go after chevrolet. My '00R with its little 5.4 would out run the C5 Z06 and was still 400 lbs heavier. With todays better cammer tech and a few more cubes Ford could have a badass N/A mustang.
Fourcam: I could sell my old worthless fox bodys and pay cash for a new Shelby and new GT.... not my choice I'd rather take my old terds and blow the doors off asswipes with big egos in there new cars.

Brand loyalty is flat out retarded. Sorry, but it is:shrug:
Street racing is STUPID in your opinion, and frankly, I don't give a damn. The fact is there are no 3 mile straight tracks to tap the potential of a car like this, not to mention, there is very little to no traffic on the road when these guys run. Millions of people die every year due to voluntary diseases such as alcoholism, lung cancer, diabetes (when caused by obesity/diet), etc. Why not cry them a river instead?
In the same context Ford built a 3400lb car that runs 10s. The fact of the matter is those GM cars DID NOT COME WITH FORCED INDUCTION. If they did, they would cost tens of thousands more due to the R&D alone. Coulda, woulda, shoulda, try taking a sip of reality once in a while.
Also, you should realize that GM is too smart to go FI on a sleeved LS2 block. Not enough gasket sealing area or meat between bores to pass OEM durability tests. That's why the LS9 (replacing the LS7) in the top dog vette is a redesigned 6.2L.
The '11 Stang and '10 Boss SE stang will feature Fords new Boss 6.2L OHC/2v V8s. You'll see them first in the '08 F series.
Funny how "your little" '00R with 400lbs of additional mass vs. a C5 Z06 is OK, but the new Shelby which would hand your '00R its ass, is a fat pig. Also, I'm not sure where you're getting your numbers from. Stock for stock a C5 Z06 will own a '00R all day long in a straight line.
Again, coulda woulda shoulda. The fact is you own a bunch of stock or near stock dog ass slow 93 Cobras, and that my 4800lb daily driver SUV would easily hand any of them their ass. Have you even driven or riden in an S197 or GT500? They are 1000x the car any Fox platform vehicle will EVER be. After having beaten on a few myself, I can honestly say that I'd never even consider the purchase of another fox body or SN95. There simply is no comparison.
The bottom line is if you want to preach about how street racing is dangerous, or how your fox bodys are better than a Ford GT, do it in your own mind. Letting those racing thoughts out into the real world only makes you look like an ignorant ass. Besides, if you don't like what Joe's doing with his car, should it even matter?
