You would have been better off doing a roll race like that with your stock gears. When I was stock, if I were to run, I would be in second gear at 60. If you want a good 60-70mph pull gear, 4.10's are perfect for a 3rd gear pull.

Better luck next time.

umm how can a driver mod do ANYTHING from a roll in the same exact gear? have you ever even driven a car?

we went from a 70 roll because we were joking around and it was on the highway. plus I left at 3400 so that's really an apples to apples comparo between cars if I ever saw one. I shifted at 6900 because i thought these motors like to pull all the way to redline. By the time I even got to 6000 he was pulling me so it didn't really lay on its face after 6000.

What I don't understand is I have a min 60 hp on him and he still pulled me under identical conditions. I think the diablo tuner is junk. it is a canned 93 octane tune. i've had so many issues with it because they dont put out the latest rev of their firmware. I might try switching back to the stock tune and running him. Will check plugs this week.

According to this gear calculator http://www.paladinmicro.com/PalMFrame00.htm?wks=spd 70 mph in 3rd with a T45 and 3.55s is about 4400 RPM, which puts you right in your powerband. 3400 RPM is closer to 52 mph.

And LMAO at people talking about "driver mod" from a roll....

IMO the 3400rpm start killed you. These cars make the power above 4K. I ran a Hemi Charger on the freeway way back when. The first run I started just above 4K and put a car length on him and kept him there the whole time. The second time I started just above 3K and he took me. Once I hit 4K he didn't pull, but up to that point I could tell I was going nowhere fast.

3400 is too low for your car. It's not about apples to apples when it comes to rpm start. :bash: Hell, if you were worried about that, you'd have a GT yourself. THey are different cars, and different setups. You dont' start out the same RPM/gear. YOu start out in what gear is to your advantage at a certain speed.

Maybe he isn't correcting for the gearing difference? BUt you're right 3400 vs. 70mph doesn't add up.

As for driver mod and ***...ERR..roll racing?....of course you still need one. As we can see here, you still need to know how/when to shift. This is a prime example of needing a driver mod in a roll race.
until you notice in my post that he already got me by a car before I even shifted to 4th:bash:

either way, identical launch in 3rd gear, ran through the powerband, and he beat me. so thats it

So, which was it?...3rd gear at 70 or left at 3400 rpm?

I still think you are down a good 15-20RWHP because of that box tune.

Honestly I think your gearing killed you. Hes hitting his Peak HP and Tq earlier than you are. Even though you have 3.55's, thats equaling his stock gearing, due to higher powerband in the 4v. It might also be your tune. Try and lower speed roll race, I would think a 1st gear roll would be better for you. 3500rpm start wont do anythign but take time to get moving. Even with 4.10s I wouldnt start a 3rd gear roll race at 3500rpm.
