SVTPerformance/Clean Tools: "Best of the Best" Competition

best_of_best(100dpi).jpg

SVTPerformance has partnered with Clean Tools, makers of the world famous Absorber, to bring the members of SVTP a chance to win a great prize package containing many of Clean Tools great products. All you have to do to enter the contest is post 1-3 pictures of your Ford vehicle along with a short description of it and your mods and of why your vehicle is the best of the best.

Clean Tool’s motto is “Best of the Best”. That is the philosophy they follow while designing and manufacturing their products. It is a standard that I feel that most SVTP members strive to achieve in their vehicles. We want to know what you have done to your vehicle, be it modifications or general maintenance and detailing, to meet that most admirable of goals. So along with the pictures you submit please include a paragraph or two telling us what you do to make your vehicle the "Best of the Best".

After all the submissions are in SVTPerformance and Clean Tools will choose a winner. The winner of the contest will be chosen based on the photos of your vehicle and the description of why your car is the "Best of the Best". Your vehicle does not necessarily have to be the most modified or the newest to win. The winner will be the submission SVTPerformance and Clean Tools feel best realizes the goal of being the "Best of the Best". Contest submissions will be accepted through October 31, 2009.

The winner of the contest will receive a product prize package from Clean Tools including one of each size of Absorber (XL, regular and mini), a couple packs of The Glosser (with 5 cloths per pack), The Dash Gear (microfiber towel), a wash mitt and a couple of cleaning brushes. Please let us know if you have any questions or comments about the contest and post submissions in this thread:

My name is Josh Marshall, here is my 2004 Procharged Azure Blue Mach 1. I'm 21 years old, i've had this car since I was 19 The car has a full exhaust, with Kooks Longtube Headers, Kooks Catted X Pipe, and SLP Loudmouth Catback, FRPP 4.10 Gears, MGW Short Shifter, P-1sc Procharger intercooled, 03/04 Cobra IRS conversion, Rear seat delete, 1" Shaker Raise, and much more, it may not be the most expensive, or the fastest mustang around but i'm proud of my car, i worked for every cent that helped me get this car, i completed CDL training and got a full time job at 19 years old so i could get closer to buying my dream car which at the time was an 03/04 cobra, but i found the deal on this car and couldn't pass it up, im the second owner, its a gorgeous car and very unique i see so few of these pass me everyday and anyone who knows cars will turn their head when they hear the whistle from the procharger coming at them and the roar of the kooks after all 475 hp passes them.

Why I think it's the best.
This particular car has quite a history with dealer and shop abuse that was well documented on this very message board.
It's the "best" in my opinion because through all the headaches and heartbreak, I made some awesome friends in the Mustang/SVT world who got me through the hard times. If it weren't for them, the car would be what it is today...a little show, a little more go and a whole lotta fun.

You won't know if you don't try. Clean Tools (SVTP will likely not take an active role in the choosing of the winner, but we do have the option to be involved) will be looking at the description for the passion you have for your car, not necessarily how modded your car is. I'm hoping to see some L's and CSVT's entered into the contest.

25K on the clock. I'm the thrid owner but all previous owners have taken good care of this car. I tried to do the best mods possible or at least make it the best all around. I think the wheels on this car is what sets it off the most and what i think make this car "the best." Beside the wheels, everyone always compliment the paint and overall finish of my car. I try to detail this car as much as possible using orbital buffer and the best polish/sealant/wax possible. I've spent quite a bit of money and time on it and of course, i'm not done with it yet...

Engine mods:
Whipple 2.3 (18-19 PSI)
Accufab TB
Billetflow idlers
JLT RAI
SCT MAF

Suspensions:

MM Isos
MM C/C Plates
MM IRS Bolts
H&R SS Springs
Steeda IRS Brace
Powerslot Rotors
Hawk HPS Pads

Exhaust:
Bassani O/R x-pipe
Magnaflow catback

Wheels/Tires:

Best of the Best Foxbody.....

1991 Ford Mustang Coupe LX 5.0

Okay I figure I'll throw in my 1991 LX Coupe

FOUR PICTURES OKAY? I can remove one....lol

This car started out as a stock 1991 5.0 LX auto car. I bought the car in Jan 08. As soon as I got it home the first order of bussiness was to pull the drivetrain and start cleaning the engine bay, interior, etc. I had picked up a 1995 Mustang from a local guy who had no idea what was in the motor, all he could say was its FAST(been there heard that, right). All I knew was it had a nice sounding cam in it, Big injectors and Alum. Heads. Transmission was grinding in second and wouldn't go in reverse so I picked it up really cheap. After a Sunday afternoon burnout accident I totaled the car and that made for a transplant. I took the engine out (by this time I knew it had good power and Victor Jr. heads). Pulled the oil pan, what I found was good, Eagle H-beam rods, Eagle Stroker Crank, SRP pistons, and a 1" Steel Gridle. I Never took the timing chain off so I still don't know the Cam specs or the bore on the engine. After swaping SN-95 parts over to 5.0 stuff Including a Edelbrock Polished water pump, Trick Flow TFS-R intake, Accufab 80mm TB and Anderson Power Pipe. I put in a Tremec TKO 3550 5-speed Transmision, Backed with Centerforce Clutch, and Steeda Shifter, A FRPP alum drive shaft bolted to a stock 8.8 housing equipped with 3:73 Motorsport Gears. I added 5 lug moser axles with 5lug SN-95 Spindles and a SVO Motorsport Extender with MSD Ignition to get the car running. Once it was up and running we strapped it down for a quick dyno pull with no tunning. The car put down 357rwhp/359rwtq. I am hoping to sometime soon get it back on the dyno for some tunning.

Snice that time I have added several suspension mods including UPR K-member and A-arms, Racecraft 2" drop spindles, 13" Crossed drilled Cobra front Brakes, Qa1 front Coilovers with 300lbs springs, Strange adjustable struts and shocks help smooth out the ride. The rear has Maximum Motorsports Weight Jacker lower Control arms and Eiblach Pro Kit Springs. The Rear upper control arms are Hotchkis Adjustable units. I also Found a set of Weld Racing 17" Alumstars and ran these wheels for awhile but found some 17x9.5 front and 17x10 rear CCW Classics fit the car better for street driving. The exhaust is Mac Longtube Headers, with Flowmasters full 3" exahust kit and tips. The interior is mostly stock with the exception of the UPR Rock Crusher shifter and the Florida 5.0 Dash Gauge Pod filled with Autometer phantom Gauges.

All this needed to look good so with the help of Kevin Mitchell and Wesley Dancy I was able to have the Oxford White reapplied with PPG paint and after blacking out the mouldings. I feel the car has come along way at being the "Best of the Best" in my garage. It means alot to me to see the car turn out the way it has......Having places like svtperformance to show it off makes it that much better.

Good luck to all....

Well my car is currently a 1997 Cobra that means the world to me. I have worked my butt off since I was 14 just to be able to buy this car. I knew from the moment a older friend of mine got one that I wanted the same car. So I worked hard and it paid off which leaves me with this.
1997 Black on Black Cobra Coupe
Current mods include:
Exterior: 03-04 Chrome Cobra rims, painted Calipers red, and prostars for drag days.
Interior: 03 Cobra seats with grey suede, billet A/C knobs, door locks, and door pins, MGW cobra shift knob.
Performance: Stock motor up-top, o/r x-pipe, flowmaster 40's, built rear end with Toms 31 spline axels, Auburn Pro Locker, and 4.10 gears. UPR adjustable upper control arms, MGW shifter.

I feel my car is the best because there is not one time I have not gone out to my car and said damn it was all worth the blood, sweat, and tears. It is almost instinct to make sure I keep the car clean from washing and waxing to cleaning and vacuming the inside.
Here are a few of my favorite shots...

Best of the Best is all I have in my Lightning

1) it has the best Air Ride kit from AirRide technologies I could have chosen the cheaper kit but I went for the best they have, the street challenge kit,

2) have the best of the exhaust kits from bassani could have gotten the cheaper BX but got the full SS kit catback and mid pipes,

3) got the best and most expensive aftermarket hood available for the Lightnings, a keystone shaker hood, no other hood out there comes close to this baby

4) my baby has the best and most expensive tonneau cover in the market a Pace Edwards bedlocker, I could have gotten a cheaper non powered tonneau cover but I always buy the best for my truck

5) have the center console mod but I went one step further and got a more expensive and harder to get center console from a Harley Davidson F-150 instead of one from a Expedition, then sent the whole console to get customized, could have sent just the lid to RIDE THE but like I said before I always get the best

6) got IMO the best wheels from the Boyd Coddington collection for these trucks 20X10 Smoothie II's once again got the best/better 20x10 instead of the cheaper 20x8 1/2

7) when it comes to maintanance I always get the best oil to the best on cleaning products

all that among lots of other litle details that I don't want to bore anybody reading this with them, so if you are looking for the best of the best then this truck got the best of the best.

If we own 2 can we submit multiple vehicles!?

THE STORY:

In Aug of 2007 my wife and I met at a car show in Tallmadge, OH. After talking with her I found out she too was a huge mustang fan and had helped her father rebuild a 1969 Mach1. In addition she had restored her 1987 Fox Box Fody GT to orignal stock setup. Great cars and she did a lot of the wrench turning on them! She began to tell me the details of her DREAM CAR.....the car had to be a SONIC BLUE SALEEN, 5spd, Coupe and Supercharged. The very next day after we met I moved to Florida. We kept in touch and she eventually moved down to join me.

Ever since that day in Aug I have been looking for a car with those exact specifications. Called Saleen and they had told me there were 8 cars in 2003 that fit those specifications. I searched and searched, Ebay, Autotrader, Craigslist, Dealsonwheels, Cars-on-line....everything I could think of! On 29 July 2009 I found one of those 8 Sonic Blue Dream Cars....turns out this one is actually 1 of 2 with the Upgraded wheel package!!! We signed the papers and had it shipped to our home. With a great smile on her face she is the proud owner of her DREAM CAR!

Yes, you can enter more than one vehicle but you must currently own all vehicles that you enter. Also, just to clarify, you car does not necessarily have to be the "best" to win. Clean Tools is really looking for the enthusiastic spirit the entrants have for their vehicles. Your description should convey the pride you have in your car and you take to make it "The Best of the Best" to you. At the end of the day all that matters is that you love your car, that's what we want to see.

This is "Kate" and she is my pride and joy. Kate has a long list of modifications but so do lots of mustangs and GT500's so what's so special about her?

First and foremost she's a part of the family. I have 5 children who all love to go for rides in Kate. Kate has went 10.8 at 132 mph in the 1/4, but I refuse to put a cage in her because it would be more difficult for my kids to go for rides comfortably and easily. There's nothing I enjoy more than watching my kids help me wash and detail Kate. She's no trailer queen either, she's driven hard and (sometimes) put up wet. I think cars are meant to be driven and enjoyed and I don't know that there's any other car enjoyed more than Kate is by my family. My kids love to go to cruise-in's and even though they can't all go at once we take two cars and they trade off on riding in Kate. Kate is helping forge a new generation of car nuts like their dad.

Second, all of the mods to Kate have not sacrificed drivability or comfort. She's fast, handles well, and looks great but she drives as good as a stock GT500.

Finally, Kate is not flashy, just nice lines and hopefully styling cues that all work together well. I removed her stripes to accentuate her nice 20" shoes. Every little mod was done to make her look sleeker and meaner in a classy way and again, hopefully that's been accomplished. Thanks for taking a look at Kate.

This is my 96 Triple Black Cobra convertible. I bought it early this year bone stock with 42,000 miles on the clock. I have since added:

Hyper Coated FR500 wheels with sumitomo tires, a CDC Lightbar, a BBK intake, SCT SF3, Borla pro XS cat-back, Pypes o/r X-Pipe, NGK G-power spark plugs, H&R Super sport springs w/ KYB Shocks, MAC C/C Plates, 6000k HID kit, Steeda Tri ax shifter, Steeda quadrant/ firewall adjuster, MM pedal adjuster, Ford racing knob and mats, chrome gauge rings, clear corners, clock pod w/ autometer phantoms, black 14" antenna and royal purple fluids.

Future plans include a stage 2 clutch, 4:10 gears, 03 interior and hopefully a supercharger.

I think my car deserves to win, so ill feel better about the hours i spend every week detailing a 13 year old car to make it look new.

There are some incredible cars in here. Figured I might as well throw mine in just in case

I'm a long time mustang enthusiast and have owned several in the past. I'm always extremely anal about keeping my car clean, and don't even like to take it out unless it is. I get a lot of hell about it but it's a pride thing with my car.

It is build number 4530 and has ~24k miles on it now. It is a blast to drive and serves as a great stress reliever to say the least. I wouldn't say that any one car is the "best" - that is debatable - there are way too many nice cars on here to claim that title. However, it gets the job done for me and I feel very fortunate to own it
