1998 Cobra coupe, black, 106k with "chip" (which I don't think even works on NA V8's) and flowmasters with straight pipes (says the ad). He says it's never been hit where it needed body panels but the previous owner backed into another car so there is spidering on a bumper or something. He mentioned the car has brand new rear tires because of a screw. He mentioned track use because in the ad it said it runs the 8th mile in 9 seconds flat. It is a 3 owner, no rust. Here are the only two pics in the ad. He wants $6,000 firm.

Here is a quote from an email he sent:

"there is a dent and paint crack on the drivers side quarter panel, about 4" by 3" where the previous owner backed into another car. As far as I know I am the 3rd owner."

The leather looks really good...

Any advice on what else I should ask him, or look out for would be nice. Is this a really good deal? Kindof a good deal, or just OK? It retails clean for $9,200.00 and trade for $6,600...

go for it

clean body, int, and why not. most of them go for 10-15k easily. if it needs some work do it. hell i would jump on that one. just check the 8 dig of the vin to make sure its real. look and the steer wheel, cross for the trans, and under the hood. if it matches then go with it.

I wouldn't say its a good deal but probably not too bad if everything checks out on a test drive....although I would be cautious of buying anything that has light body damage simply because to me that is something that implies the owner didn't care enough to fix the appearence and would seem doesn't care enough to take care of the car properly.

The clutch was replaced 3 months ago, timing belt and waterpump hasn't been done yet, tranny shifts fine and he just changed the fluid he said, all fluids are up to date, no grinding and the rear end he said was strong but stock. Two front tires need to be replaced soon but the rears are new. khumos is all he said.

You must own a four cylinder, the 4.6 has no timing belt and the water pump isn't something that has to be replaced at regular intervals.

I didn't know. He mentioned it in his email, that the timing belt and water pump has not been replaced so I figured it had it.

Where are you seeing that mileage SN95 Cobra's going for $10,000-$15,000?

It sounds like a magical place. 15k:nonono:

However 6k isn't bad even though the guy sound like an imbecile. I'd do it for that price.

OP good luck getting the car!:beer:
