Si searched and came up with a thread that was started about this but with no replies. I know people have done this and was going to do it for my winter project. Does anyone know what is involved or have any pics. If not thats ok I am going to do it and I'll make a write up for it if anyone is interested.

ill try and dig up some but here are some...looks like a bit of work to fit on the firewall. u might as well do a COP conversion, which doesnt seem like too much work

You mean coil on plug?

Because I don't see how coilovers are gonna help you with how the stock coilpacks look.

lol, as you can see I wrote that late last night, yeah I think my coilovers are fine where they are, and no they sure wouldnt help the look:beer:

No offense, but it still looks kind of messy. If I were to move mine, I'd probably try to mount them in the huge empty space under the lower intake manifold. It'd be a lot of work I'm sure, but I bet it's possible. What exactly is involved with moving these? Just extending all the wires and then mounting the actual coils?

something about those coilpacks right by the fuel system doesnt jive well with me..... one spark on a baby leak of gas and boom...

the vapors from the gas if there is a leak is going to be bad no matter if they are mounted back there are near the front of the motor.

COP swap....

did you ever finish yours? I'm thinking about doing it myself.

I would do a COP swap but that is too much wiring for me, i dont want to start tearing into the harness' and all that jazz. I will do this and make it more hidden then those were.

Someone on the forum has done this, I just don't remember who.

Hopefully they'll post up, because I wanna know how to move these things. This winter I'm hoping to get my engine cleaned up a bit, and moving these would make a huge difference.

basically you'll wire in wasted spark configuration since our computer is not capable of firing each COP individually like the 03/04 cobras. from waht im reading doing the COP on our cars w/out actually changing over to the 03/04 computer/harness is more for aesthetics.

as far as wiring the coil packs to the firewall, i cant see how it can be done w/ the EGR in place. the 2 cars i postd above have the EGR delete.

Chris you must have a decent job during school, you are always doing something to your car lol

Actually I currently DON'T have a job...its basically from working my tail off all summer when I was home.

Although I have a sushi chef job lined up [WTF?] so I'll see how that goes...I've never had sushi before, but I REALLLLY want that built rear end.

I am def. not doing the COP they dont add any performance and would cost me more money that is not needed to spend. I may try something very custom and mount them under the intake like stated above, it wouldnt be hard but I would have to get custom spark plug wires . I think it would be worth it however it any went wrong it would suck to take it apart for that. Another idea I had was hiding them in the corners directly on the back of the strut towers.

I think that would look good but still be out to fix if needed.
