It definitely matches the clutch because otherwise it would never engage the pilot bearing and the splines on the clutch.
I got a bore scope today and I'm going to look and see if anything is touching.
So far I've spent 12 hours in an attempt to mate my new MT82 to my engine and the closest I seem to be able to get it is within about an inch.
I'm unable to get the dowels in the block into their respective holes on the bellhousing.
I know that I'm getting the input shaft mated to the pilot...
There can be rubbing. I think the max section width I can get away with is probably 12.5".
I ran Nitto NT555R 325/50R15 with a section width of 13.11 and sometimes I would get a little bit of a bunny hop effect while turning. The tires had some wear on the inner sidewall from rubbing.

I ran ET Street S/S 295/65 and I got a good 2500 miles out of them.
Probably would have gotten more if I ran a little lower pressure and still could have raced with them. Problem was the circumferential grooves had worn way down and it was squirrely in the rain.
I am leaning towards running...
