Yup. Funny thing was the rotary could be swapped with a F2 rear shock. :)

The valves on my 97 did get tight as I got to 15k miles but all within tolerance. Great bike but would eat tires. Swapped to a 190/55 and man was the handling...
My 1997 put down 117 on the dyno. It had a bit of lurching at times down low, combination of first year tuning and the clutch being different, if my memory serves me correctly. I rode a later TLS and it felt a little softer all around. Still fun but the top end felt a smidge less sharp.

For my intended purpose it would most likely be something of the vintage sport bikes, mid-late 90's.
I loved my 1997 TL1000S but always had a soft spot for the water cooled GSXR1100's. That being said I like goofy stuff so this comes to mind.
However, my 2005 ZX12R was a great road burner...
