Does anyone have a quick write up on how to remove the front coolant crossover? You know, the big obtrusive black tube that cages in the alternator. Going to take the intake off sooner or later and need to know how to get that thing off. Thanks.

Just take the bolts off and move it back and fourth while pulling up. Be prepared to by new o rings from ford and lube before putting back in.

i just used coolant on mine and it was fine. When reinstalling do NOT twist and turn the tubes, you'll break the oring.

If theres been a decent coolant mix kept in the car it shouldnt be toooo bad. I took one off of a car that had been running straight water (coolant not allowed in the series they raced in), I had to beat that one out of the block with a dead blow hammer.

you need to read the fill and burp procedure, save yourself a lot of headaches. For the most part you will be filling the system through the crossover as its the highest point.

also its not uncommon for that plug to be very difficult to remove, might wanna have some vice grips handy if the allen key portion strips out. There are also people that sell replacement plugs with a bolt head on top which look pretty handy

for me when draining the system its taken 3 burps to get it full

Id get one of the stainless steel plugs that's sold on here first before going at it. Like DSG said, lots of people tear that factory plug up trying to get it out. Then follow the burping procedure outlined on the reische website for dohc mustangs.
