Is anybody who has one of these superchargers feeling like we’re obsolete? Haha. Once the VMP Gen 3 drops, is anyone switching to that one or keeping what they have? Me personally, I’m restricted to pump gas, so no matter what supercharger I use I can’t be going past 715ish to be on the safe side. until we get a sheetz with e85 which won’t be for like 5 years haha. Any thoughts?

Keeping what I have Gen2r. I don’t have gen2r maxed out. Serious question Will stock gt and gt500 rods handle a 2650? If so. How long?

From what I have been reading , we’re gonna have to stay within the 720-750rwhp range. Even if the 2650 is good for up to 1100 rwhp it couldn’t be run that high on stock internals. Correct me if I’m wrong though, it’s something along those lines.

what they don't tell us is how much torque will we lose?
I don't think rods will be the issue,

Have a feeling they might be something special haha, since no one knows for sure how long they will be produced. I asked Justin at VMP and he said they should continue to produce them . Get me close to 700 haha

Ported trinity, so basically a Gen2. No plans to upgrade because I am limited to 93 octane and refuse to get headers or cams to drop boost. Also, street conditions and tires are my real limits not power.

The ONLY other upgrade I would do, would be headers because to install cams costs WAY to much. Even with headers I still don’t think I would be able to run a 10 or 15% lower. So I’m fine where I’m at.

Hillbilly, what fuel and supporting mods are you running to reach 700 with the Gen 2? I would love to hit that #

.............same here

Just about everything.

VMP Dual BAP
JLT 123 intake

VMP Triple Pass HE
93 octane
The Perfect day

I usually run a 91 tune as that is all we have here so it is less then that

@ram150 @1st usa car: Some things to keep in mind!

With a larger rotor pack, it can move more air at the same rotor speed compared to the smaller 2.3 TVS. BUT, not only is the new 2650 rotor pack larger, its even MORE efficient than the 2.3 was. It also uses LESS power generated by the engine to run. More power sent to the rear wheels.

So, what does this mean? You have the potential to make MORE power, on a slower rotor speed (IE less boost).

MORE air at less discharge temp and PSI = safer on 91. Its the same concept as running a Whipple 4.0L on a 15 PSI pulley vs a Whipple 2.9 on a 20 PSI pulley. They will both make similar power, but the bigger 4.0L can make it safely on 91, where as the 2.9 needs E85 or 100 octane. Granted, my example is exaggerated and is more or less just an example, but the concept is the same.

I think the Gen 3 is the answer all of us who are limited to 91 pump have been waiting for. The Gen 3 has the POTENTIAL for 1000+ HP from what it sounds like. But 700 rwhp safely and consistently on 91 is the bigger potential Im exited about.
