Good morning everyone looking for some good advice. I know this thread has been gone over many times on this forum I'm sure. I have a 14 gt500, off road x pipe, magnaflow mufflers, vmp twin 67 throttle body, jlt cai. Car has driven fine with no issues for a few weeks. I went riding this weekend and came to a stop no throttle response at all. this happened 4 times I key offed and key back on the car and the issue seemed to resolve itself. and before I put the twin on a had a SCJ monoblade that is now at accufab due to a ton a quirky idle issues over months of driving. no trouble codes in pcm. thanks in advance for any help

IIRC this type of issue should be able to be resolved in the tune and doing datalogging. The problem is, capturing the datalog when the event occurs.

Someone please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on this statement.

Was the tune updated when you put the vmp throttle body on

The quality control on parts for these cars is ridiculous. It's been 4 months I've been fighting issues with throttle bodies and intakes for this car. Previous cars and trucks I've had never had this many issues. Bit crazy for such expensive parts.

I had a bad tps sensor in the first VMP 72mm I got last year. They sent out another one and its been fine since then.

I have been tempted to swap to a mono to gain the extra power but I am not sure I want to deal with the TPS/Motor issues.

The response on the monos are amazing. Big difference from the twin blade. They just seem to be quite quirky. You may get one and never have a problem or get one with a ton of problems. I'm hoping accufab can fix whatever is going on with my mono.

Try reloading the tune or disconnecting battery?

For monos, I heard overtightening can cause quirky behavior. Maybe try loosening and resnugging?

I did torque it initially on first install. I installed bps plenum, scj mono, jlt cai, 170 thermostat, tr6 plugs and magnaflow muffler with off road x. Had the car dynoned run great while I had it there took the car home and immediately starting surging. After smoke testing because I thought I had a vacuum leak. Found jlt cai leaking around maf and used their gasket not the factory one. Upon closer look at the intake tube it was warped. Jlt sent me a new intake tube. Car then did good for a few days. Then out of nowhere chasing idle again. Thought it was tune. So swapped tuners. Same result. Removed bps plenum at that point. Then car did good for a week or so. Then after that chasing idle again. Finally went with vmp twin 67. Sent my mono to accufab. It's been there a month. The 67 did good for 3 week then out of no where I come to idle this weekend dead throttle no response at all. This has been a 4 month affair of phone calls multiple times. When come to find out. It's a part quality issue. The money I have put in so far I should have bought a 4.0 and gone from there.

There was a post mentioned that between a certain time period there were issues with the SCJ monos but they have since taken care of the problem.

I bought a mono back in Jan. of this year. On the box there is a date and my box showed 02/08/17. I asked about it and someone told me that meant the mono was built in Feb. 8, 2017. This is after that period where they had issues. I haven't installed mine yet (mono is part of my part 2 mods after I get the gear done) so I'm hoping I don't have issues.

1Alibi 2, did your 2nd mono come with the FR logo painted like that or did you do that? It looks good with the colour on it.

Side question for someone.

Is there anything to gained from a twin 67 to a SCJ mono or Whipple mono?
