OK cool, then I'm going to try an intermediate size hose between the barb and the actual hose then. Thanks.

Hey Steve, you still around? I sent a PM over the weekend but not sure if you got it. My lid is leaking coolant out of the glass. You can see it bubbling and seeping out one of the quadrants. Car only has around 600 ~ 800 miles on tank and leak started. Could I get a replacement lid? If you want the old one back I can ship it to you too.

Mine fell out completely. I tried grey RTV, but eventually it fell again. I ended up drilling and threading a hole in the center from the bottom. Haven't had any problems since.

Oh man. OK thanks for the heads up. I wonder if the Mega Black silicon would do the trick. That stuff is almost like epoxy. I have to hammer and half break things to get them apart after using it.

I've never used that stuff. I went with the grey since it sealed my diff pretty well. I did use it along with the bolt.

Mine leaks also. But from around the threads. I put some black silicone on it and it's holding for now.

Mine leaked around the threads real bad too. Sprayed all over my motor and windshield etc. I found putting on two o-rings cured it. Put one just above the threads in the somewhat expected spot that slides down in the hole of the tank and then put a second slightly larger o-ring all the way over the top so that it compresses between the lid and the top of the tank. That seems to have cured it for me. Now it's just the glass leaking.

Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a shot.

MalcolmV8, where did you get the o-ring? I have a leak problem as well and used some Teflon paste on it the last time to seal, but would like to use something different after my blower swap. That paste makes a mess and an o-ring would be a lot better.

Just local hardware store. Here's a pic of how I do it. One in the slot by the threads and one up on the lid.

I've been using Ultra Grey RTV to fix mine. And it's starting to leak again. I was told they had a new adhesive and that I would be sent a new lid with that adhesive being used. I ended up just getting a new piece of lexan.

I think the only permanent fix would be to make it so the lexan can be screwed to the metal with an o-ring in there somewhere.
