Many auto reporters were saying from the get-go that it would be nearly impossible to actually buy a C8 at the sub $60K price. For one, almost nobody wants a zero option Corvette. Secondly, most dealerships are going to have them optioned up to begin with. That said, Chevy being Chevy, you can pretty much wipe $10K - $15K off that optioned up price right off the bat. So, that "$80K" car will still sell for as low as $65K. Still not a bad deal at all. I think Chevy may have just reset the MSRP and sale price of the entire sports car industry, especially if the C8 is a performer.
**** off LOL I'll but it for 59k and slap on a whipple for 10. 70k and it's basically unstoppable.

I cross shopped 13/14 GT500's, Zl1's, and my current C7 Z. I'll be considering a 2020 GT500, C8 Z and a few other cars for my next toy. Anything within my budget and meets certain performance baselines are what I cross shop. I actually enjoy how each vehicle differs from another and depending what I like the most will determine what I buy not specific classifications of 10 or 11 second cars.
gt500 is substantially more money. and it doesn't look as good.

dear god i cant wait until all these people get the base C8s with 1995 civic interior and ride quality, thinking they are going to boost it, but realize they are going to have to wait until 2022 for tuning and get clapped up by everything, and i mean everything until then. it will be glorious

I'm a blue oval as one could be but stating the C8 will ride like a 95 Civic is simply ****ing obtuse.

Have you ridden in any base model car? specifically a corvette?
The C7 seems fine to me.. Really is retarded to compare to a 90's civic. Hell its retarded to compare a C6 to a 90's civic... The C5, youd have a point

Or when the Camaro gets the ZR1 engine and lays waste to your GT500.

We dont exactly know if a whipple will fit on top. My guess is they go twin turbo with the z06. so no need for a tall rear hood.
they will make a PD blower work. And if not, it would be a centri anyway. Might be a couple years but it will happen. I know all the guys at Whipple, and they are SMART mother ****ers.

I have, several times while reconditioning them for my used car department. Wasn't a fan of the entry/exit level because #knees, but the overall driving experience was fun. The base LS3 was peppy, compared to my 11 GT500. Went around corners confidently.

Having driven a Honda/Toyota compact car of the vintage you speak of, I can confirm the Japanese product and the Corvette base cars were a VASTLY different experience with the Corvette being very positive.

Those experiences withstanding, I called bullshit on your statement and stand by my statement.
