Lexus.

After much research I bought an '07 GS350 to DD. It had 100k miles when I purchased the car in Aug of 2017, and have 165k on it now. I was skeptical, but aside from oil changes, it's only needed brake pads and a new battery. Also, they don't fall apart at 100 mph -- that is nonsense. I'd buy another Lex in a heartbeat.

Lexus infotainment is definitely behind the Germans -- as are most Asian and American brands. If that's a deal breaker, lease a new Audi, they are cool cars. I wouldn't recommend buying a pre-owned one though. A close friend of mine bought a used A4. He got rid of it recently and vowed to never own another one.

I have an '06 GS430, the last of the GS V8's. I bought it about a year ago, it was owned by a retired surgeon. One owner, 52K miles and all dealer serviced. Car is a tank, Lexus build quality has gone down but still rivals most Euro cars.

That car is literally one of the best cars Lexus has built. The build quality on the GS430 somehow seems better than the GS350 of the same generation. Dont ask me how, it just seems that way everytime I service one.

For what it’s worth, my wife has a 14’ IS250 FSport. She loves it. Car has 98k miles on it, just replaced the brakes. Great car. Only regret is not getting a 350. 250 is a little underpowered. We bought the 250 for fuel mileage, but the trade off in power vs the 350 is not worth it. Only complaint we have is the FSport models don’t have fog lights while the standard models do. Otherwise it’s a great car, and was under 40k new.

Theres still the gsf. I'm trying to get my brother to Ditch his rx350 f sport. But he keeps looking at scat pack chargers or an amg gt for his 50th.

Lexus gets my vote. I purchased my 2008 GS350 AWD in 2015 with 60k miles. Currently sitting at 122k, only maintenance has been fluid changes, cabin air filter and brakes. Car is a beast in the winter and comfortable year round

actually there was a GS460 with the 1UR v8 through 2011.

Although one could argue that the 4.3L 3UZ is the best V8 toyota ever made. I'd love to have one, these are literally run forever motors.

my parents have a 2009 GS460. pretty nice car. very quick for a big old luxury boat, and rare. one of the first cars to use the 8 speed i think. and that bodystyle still looks modern, aged way better than the BMW and Mercedes equivalents of the same year

2008 IS-F was the first to offer the 8-speed for Lexus, but the GS460 is indeed rare. 3 model years I think and very low demand on the final year.

The 5.0L in the IS-F is a marvelous engine. Its mostly Yamaha engineered/tuned, with Toyota doing the rotating assembly. The 8-Speed really let that 5.0 move!

As much as I like audi, I'd have to say the Lexus seems like the better choice for you. Even the new Volvos are damn nice though..

Audi all the way! We’re going to be buying our 3rd Q5. Isn’t Lexus made by Toyota?
Two completely separate classes. All you see on the Europe Autobahn are Audi’s, Mercedes, BMW, and VW’s.You won’t regret the Audi. Lexus would fall apart at 100+ cruising speed.

I’m reading a reoccurring theme here.
Lexus: nice, inexpensive to maintain, reliable, peppy

Audi: expensive to maintain, problematic, nicer car, really fun to drive.

Essentially yes. Audi and the rest of the Euro luxury companies will aways have more power, better overall high performance cars (AMG, M-series, S series etc). But they will never be as reliable and as trouble free as Lexus.

Id also argue that Lexus has much better interior quality than the Euro cars too.

So the Germans are saying " buy a Ford, GM, Chrysler. It's what all the Americans drive".???
Who drives 100+ mph all the time?

Op. Audi will win the fun vote. Lexus will win the reliability.

The Lexus will be more reliable, but their styling for the last several years has left me cold. That grill design is purely hideous. I'd got with the Audi just because of the looks.
