I’m with you on that. I was just wanting to make sure you didn’t cite my half-ass driving skill as any kind of benchmark of what one should expect from the car...
It will be interesting to see what happens with the GT500 as people get seat time. I personally don’t think people will see the same massive gains going from the stock tires to a DR or even slick setup as it’s got a pretty good tire to start with, plenty of width from the factory and a lot less torque to handle down low.
Will there be gains.....I certainly think so but I think we are going to learn that the GT500, as it comes from the factory, is probably way easier to extract all its potential from than an even heavier, massive torque Redeye on pizza cutter tires. Even on a good tire the hellcat takes a little finesse off the line....
Make no mistake, I have no doubt that with both stock to the tire a new GT500 will slaughter a Redeye. Throw a tire on both and a little bit of seat time and I bet you’ve got a hell of a race on a prepped track.
Edit - to answer your question....I do fully expect times to improve. I just don’t think the improvements will be as substantial as I think it’s going to be an easier vehicle to drive fast....however, I won’t be shocked or upset to be proven entirely wrong.

Agreed. I think it will be similar to the C6z going from stock tire to sticky tires. Ranger gained .3 and 3 mph on dr.
We could see a high 10.48/.49 in -2k+ da and good prep stock with a good driver. I think we will definitely see multiple 10.5 stock. Then ad .3 from tire maybe 10 flat but more likely 10.1 or so at 135/136. My predictions on tire. A good .5 better than this run 10.66 first time out.
