Stock Redeye with Just DR’s ran 10.22@134 last night. (Not a press event with Evan Smith).

I didn't. I don't think I was paying attention, which is typical.

I thought they ran a handling pack car with aero parts and the CFTP only. I'd like to see the difference between the base/handing/CFTP but I imagine there isn't enough difference between the base/handling car for them to showcase both.
Yea id just like to see the handling pack car and the cftp. Im suprised they would test the handling pack car at all.

wrong. The Z1E ran a 2:45 with an amatuer. The GT3RS is considerably faster than that. The 3RS also holds the Road Atlanta track record, faster than the ACR's fastest lap there. I do think the 500 will be right around the 3RS on certain tracks but it will not be "running away"

Time will tell. I think road Atlanta is a track the gt500 Cftp will absolutely demolish.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around the 1:21.x lap at Grattan, that’s so ridiculously fast. It’s gotta be some fine balance of events going on that day. Maybe a sticky track, cool temps, excellent driver, and a ghini in a bottle.

You also have no idea what any other car with full race team support would run at Grattan in 2019...

Not only that but the big benefit of a DR is so you don’t spin out of the hole.

This guy literally had the country’s best track prep at that event and was not spinning.

I don’t see a DR giving him a ton of gain in this example (speed phenom gt500).

AGREED.

And Im over here like "Please, pretty please let me hit 2nd gear without grinding.... please please please". lmao

That's why I got rid of my '12. Car was fast, trans was ****ing trash.

Oh I remember those days with my 11 GT500.

Don’t miss that at ALL.......

see above.

And what a great time we live in that we can fight each other over which car is quicker when they are both bottom 10 capable with just a tire. When does this stop?

The ACR ran

ACR ran 22 with Dodge and Winkler. It could have been hot weather.
Just because a pro ran doesn't mean that's automatically the best the car can do, iirc Dodge was on a tight deadline with their lap time destruction tour, they probably just went out, set the easy as hell lap record for a track nobody cared about and moved on. If they went back and put in the same effort as Ford did testing their cars with multiple pros, engineers and modern telemetry which is incredibly required for ANY driver to extract a perfect hero run then you'd very likely see a drastic difference.

let me reiterate. Dodge put in full tits effort at Laguna Seca and the Senna (Pobst driving both) only beat it by 1 second. Now using magazine racer logic, that means the GT500 is as fast as a Senna.

Wow touchy subject. It’s good to know you we’re there for both.

For the record I do feel the ACR is the faster car, 1 lap and much faster after 20 min on track!

No I wasn't there but I have in fact seen these scenarios plenty of times in real life. A good one was when GM was testing the 1LE at my track, multiple different pros drove it all day with a huge range of lap times between a 2.10.9 to a 2.14.xx Randy P ended up being the fastest
